Reigning Olympic 100m champion Julien Alfred outdueled two-time World 200m champion Shericka Jackson to take the win in the Women’s 300m at Saturday’s Miramar Invitational at the Ansin Sports Complex in Miramar, Florida.

St. Lucia’s Alfred produced a national record 36.05 to take the win ahead of Jackson (36.15) and the Ivory Coast’s Jessika Gbai (36.24).

Jamaican National 400m record holder Rusheen McDonald won the Men’s equivalent in 32.39 ahead of Great Britain’s Toby Harries (32.47) and Bahamian Wendell Miller (33.45).

The Men’s 100m saw Jamaica’s 2023 National champion Rohan Watson produce a wind-aided 9.99 (2.7m/s) to win ahead of 2011 World champion Yohan Blake (10.06) and the Dominican Republic’s Alexander Ogando (10.14).

Jamaica’s Briana Williams and Natasha Morrison ran 11.07 and 11.08, respectively, to finish second and third in a windy Women’s equivalent behind American Kayla White who won in 10.99 (3.3m/s).

The Men’s sprint hurdles saw Jamaica’s Lafranz Campbell take third in 13.31 (3.5m/s) behind Americans Jamal Britt (13.19) and De’Vion Wilson (13.23).

Vincentian Olympic finalist Shafiqua Maloney took top spot in the Women’s 600m in 1:24.61 ahead of Puerto Rico’s Gabby Scott (1:26.39) and American Ziyah Holman (1:27.81).

Jamaica’s Nigel Ellis and Javari Thomas were second and third, respectively, in the Men’s 200m with times of 20.52 and 20.61. American Demarius Smith won in 20.41 (3.5m/s).

Jamaica’s Tia Clayton was runner-up in the Women’s 200m affected by 4.1m/s wind. Her time was 23.05, well behind American Tamari Davis who won in 22.42. Another American, Sedrickia Wynn, was third in 23.10.

In the field, Jamaica’s Ackelia Smith produced a meet record 6.74m to take the win in the Women’s Long Jump ahead of the USA’s Quanesha Burks (6.66m) and BVI’s Chantel Malone (6.63m).

2019 World Championship silver medallist Danniel Thomas-Dodd was second in the Women's Shot Put with 18.80m behind American Maggie Ewen who won with 19.25m. Abby Moore of the USA was third with 17.89m.
