Captain Aubrey David urges Soca Warriors to build on lessons from friendly outing in Saudi Arabia

Soca Warriors captain Aubrey David urged his team to take valuable lessons from their recent loss to Saudi Arabia, as he stressed the need to become more formidable if they are serious about qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Soca Warriors were beaten 3-0 in the friendly contest, which served as a debut outing for Head coach Dwight Yorke, at the Al Shabab Club Stadium in Riyadh last week.

Captain David urges players to prove their worth as Soca Warriors face fresh start

Senior Soca Warriors captain Aubrey David says their friendly contest against Saudi Arabia represents a crucial opportunity for players to stake their claim as Trinidad and Tobago look ahead to the Concacaf Gold Cup preliminary playoffs against Cuba in March 2025 and the resumption of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers in June.

In other words, David made the message clear—every player has to prove themselves again as they start a clean slate under recently appointed Head coach Dwight Yorke.
