Twenty-one wickets fell on a dramatic final day when Brathwaite’s XI resumed from 240-5 and was dismissed for 346 thanks to a 55-run ninth-wicket partnership between Rahkeem Cornwall and Preston McSween. Kavem Hodge failed to add to his overnight score of 59.
Cornwall hit nine fours and three sixes in his 63 while McSween struck five fours and a six that gave Brathwaite’s XI a 20-run first-innings lead.
In their second turn at bat, Chase’s XI could not have got off to a worse start losing their first three wickets with only 10 runs on the board.
John Campbell, who scored 129 in the first innings continued his good form with 55 and together with Chase put on 50 for the fourth-wicket. However, once Chase was dismissed for 19, the innings fell away and the team was all out for 113.
Veerasammy Permaul was the chief destroyer with 4-21. McSween took 2-25 and Cornwall 2-23.
Needing 93 to secure victory, Brathwaite’s XI got off to a steady start getting to 54 before they lost Kieran Powell for 29.
Thereafter, they made heavy weather of the chase losing their next six wickets for 33 runs as Raymon Reifer (2-15), Jermaine Blackwood (2-17) and Imran Khan (2-16) tore through the order.
It would come down to Cornwall to win the match with his fourth six of the match.
Scores in the match: Chase’s XI 326 (John Campbell 129, Roston Chase 75) and 113 (John Campbell 55). Brathwaite’s XI 346 (Brathwaite 95, Cornwall 63) and 95 for 5 (Kieran Powell 29, Paul Palmer 25).

Resuming on 99 for three, Brathwaite’s XI had an early setback when Shannon Gabriel trapped Roston Chase lbw for his overnight score of four. He then sent down a torrent of bouncers to Dowrich as things got tense between the two sides.
Brooks, meanwhile, got off to a slow start but gradually scored at better than a run a ball to go to the break unbeaten on 66 from 99 balls. Dowrich was not out 56 (83 balls) having taken a liking to the spin bowling of Rahkeem Cornwall and Jomel Warrican.
Campbell, who is hoping to retain his place in the West Indies team for the Test series against Sri Lanka later this month, scored 129 from 253 balls from which he hit 15 fours and three sixes in his more than five-hour stay at the crease.
He partnered with Captain Roston Chase to put on a fourth-wicket stand of 183 after Jayden Seales and Preston McSween had combined to reduce the side to 53-3. Seales accounted for the wickets of Shayne Moseley for three and Sunil Ambris for a duck to have Chase XI in trouble early at 12 for 2.
Campbell and Nkrumah Bonner then put on 41 for the third wicket before McSween dismissed the latter for 16.
Campbell and Chase took the score to 236 when Chase fell to Kavem Hodge for 75. He struck 10 fours in the innings that lasted for 208 minutes during which he faced 159 deliveries. Campbell eventually fell to the bowling of Rahkeem Cornwall after he and Jermaine Blackwood had put on 16 for the sixth wicket.
Blackwood, meantime, remained unbeaten on 18 at the close. Imran Khan is with him on three.
Seales, who also dismissed Raymon Reifer for 2, was the best of the bowlers taking 3-42 while McSween, who claimed the wickets of Bonner and Jahmar Hamilton returned figures of 2-40.
Moseley scored a 142-ball 83 as Holder’s XI chasing 313, closed on 149 for 3. His innings included nine fours and a six.
Nkrumah Bonner was unbeaten on 24 at the end.
Bowling for Brathwaite’s XI Raymon Reifer, who had 5 for 60 in the first innings, Oshane Thomas and Keon Harding each had one wicket.
Earlier, Shane Dowrich and Shamarh Brooks scored unbeaten half-centuries as Brathwaite’s XI got to lunch on 231 for 4 on the final morning of the warm-up match against Holder’s XI at Emirates Old Trafford.

Chasing 275 set by Brathwaite’s XI on Tuesday, Holder’s XI looked set to produce a strong reply with Sunil Ambris leading the way with 52. However, his dismissal with the score on 90 for 2, opened the door for Reifer to strike.
The fast-medium pacer ripped the heart from the Holder’s XI batting taking five wickets in just 11 balls to have his rivals tottering on 111 for 7. During that destructive spell, Reifer dismissed Nrkrumah Bonner for 5, (95-3), Joshua Da Silva for 0, (104 for 4), Jason Holder for 0, (104 for 5), Shayne Moseley for 40, (109 for 6) and Rahkeem Cornwall for 2, (111 for 7).
“I was trying to hit the top of off stump and create problems for the batsman. I’ve played here in England before on the last tour (2017). I didn’t play a Test match but I played a few warm-up matches so I learned a few things and used them to my advantage today,” said Reifer afterwards.
"The conditions here are helpful to the bowlers … someone with my pace who can get the ball to move around. It’s about working hard and putting yourself in the best position to perform for the team. It’s about putting in the performance and waiting for your opportunity.”
However, unlike Brathwaite’s XI that lost their last four wickets at 275 on Tuesday, there was a bit more fight from Holder’s side. Kyle Mayers (45) with help from Alzarri Joseph 10, and Kemar Roach 18, added some respectability to the score. Marquino Mindley took two of the last three wickets to return figures of 3 for 37, providing solid support to Reifer whose 5 for 60 did most of the damage.
With a lead of 82, Brathwaite’s XI started well in their second turn at strike. Brathwaite who got 84 in the first innings and John Campbell had an opening stand of 88 before Campbell was trapped lbw by Joseph for 49. Seven balls later and with no addition to the score, Brathwaite fell to Jomel Warrican for 35.
Holder’s XI struck a big blow six runs later when Joseph trapped Shai Hope leg before for 2 to leave Brathwaite’s XI in some bother at 94 for 3.
Sharmarh Brooks and Roston Chase were each on 4 at the close with their side boasting a 181-run lead heading into Thursday’s final day.
Joseph has figures of 2 for 17 while Warrican has 1 for 4.
