Jamaicans Demario Prince and Jerome Campbell fell short of the podium in the men’s 60m hurdles final at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China, on Saturday, as the Caribbean ended the morning session of day two without adding to its medal tally.

Despite their spirited efforts, Prince crossed the line in 7.53 seconds to finish sixth, while Campbell clocked 7.71 seconds for seventh place. The race was once again dominated by American Grant Holloway, who successfully defended his crown in a winning time of 7.42 seconds. France's Wilhem Belocian claimed the silver in 7.54 seconds, as he narrowly edged out China’s Junxi Liu, who took the bronze in 7.55 seconds.

Prince, who had looked sharp in the semi-finals with a 7.60-second clocking, got a decent start in the final but couldn't quite match the pace set by the frontrunners as the hurdles came thick and fast. Meanwhile, Campbell—whose 7.61-second semi-final performance earned him a spot in the medal showdown—struggled to find his rhythm after clipping an early hurdle.

For the Caribbean, Raymond Richards’ high jump bronze remains the region’s only medal at the championships so far.
