Sportsmax.tv has been reliably informed that former Jamaican Olympian, Dr. Una Morris-Chong, has unfortunately lost her home due to the ongoing wildfires that have been ravaging Los Angeles for the past few days.
The wildfires have claimed five lives, so far, and seen the homes of a number of high-profile celebrities, including the likes of James Woods, Billy Crystal and Paris Hilton, being burned to the ground.
Morris-Chong, 77, represented Jamaica at three Olympic Games in 1964, 1968 and 1972.
Her fourth-place finish in the 200m in 1964 made her the youngest Jamaican to be in the top four in the Olympics.
She also held the Jamaican records in the 200m, 400m, 800m and pentathlon as well as the world indoor 300m record in 1967.
The former Kingston Technical High School and Cal Poly Pomona star was also named Jamaican Sportswoman of the Year in 1963 and 1964.
She graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a degree in Zoology in 1970.
Currently a Radiologist, Morris-Chong also owned and operated a Jamaican restaurant in Pasadena, California for many years and provided personal and financial support to her collegiate alma mater.
