Grenades FC maintained a one-point lead atop the Antigua & Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) Premier League table thanks to a 2-0 win over Piggott’s Bullets on Saturday at the ABFA Technical Center.

Jamaica Football

Having watched with pride as Jamaica’s young Reggae Girlz successfully navigated the Jewels of the Caribbean Under-20 Women's Invitational tournament, stand-in coach Leacroft Lettman believes the victory served as a crucial stepping stone in the team’s development as they prepare for the Concacaf Women’s Under-20 qualifiers early next year.

The tactician’s declaration came as he reflected on the team’s journey through the five-day tournament in Trinidad and Tobago, which they capped off with a 2-1 win over the Red Angels in a thrilling final.

Jamaica Premier League

Montego Bay United (MBU) continued their impressive run in the Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League (JPL), as they registered a 2-0 victory over Vere United in a composed, if unspectacular, contest at the Montego Bay Sports Complex on Monday.

Goals from Brian Brown in the 42nd minute and Demario Phillips (90+1) secured MBU’s eighth win of the season and, by extension, stretched their unbeaten streak to four matches.

Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) First Vice President Ian Forbes has called for greater collaboration among sports administrators to ensure the continued success of Jamaican athletes on the global stage. Speaking at an event hosted by the Ministry of Sports last Friday, Forbes emphasized the need for administrators to prioritize athletes’ well-being over personal or organizational interests.
