Star running back Le'Veon Bell is set to sign for NFL Super Bowl champions the Kansas City Chiefs.

Bell was cut by the New York Jets on Tuesday – less than halfway through the four-year, $52.5million contract he signed as a marquee free agent in 2019.

Reports linked All-Pro RB Bell to the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins and Chiefs.

On Thursday, Bell told ESPN that he intends to join Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in Kansas City.

Bell will have the chance to reunite with the Jets (0-5) when the Chiefs (4-1) and the struggling New York franchise meet in Week 8.

After sitting out the 2018 season due to a contract dispute with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Bell moved to the Jets and averaged 3.3 yards per carry and four total touchdowns in 17 games.

The three-time Pro Bowler was reportedly unhappy about his usage in the Jets' offense and, following the 30-10 loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 5, liked tweets suggesting he be traded.

Bell – who is reportedly signing a one-year deal with the Chiefs – spent three weeks on injured reserve after suffering a hamstring injury in the Jets' opening loss at Buffalo.

The 28-year-old has had over 1,200 rushing yards in three separate seasons, but the last of those was in 2017.

Since entering the league as the 48th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, Bell has rushed for 6,199 yards and 38 touchdowns, while receiving for 3,160 yards and eight TDs.
