Calbert Hutchinson, President of the Jamaica Lacrosse Association, has been elected Vice President of the Pan-American Lacrosse Association (PALA), following confirmation from PALA’s Nominations Committee on the results of the 2025 Board of Directors elections.
Hutchinson, a pioneering figure in the growth of lacrosse in Jamaica and the Caribbean, returns to the PALA Board alongside Daniela Eppler of Mexico Lacrosse, who was re-elected as Secretary. Jason Vescovi (USA Lacrosse) was elected as an At-Large member, while Cara Morris (USA Lacrosse) and Nico Prandi (Argentina Lacrosse) were appointed by the Board to fill additional vacancies.
PALA President Ann Kitt-Carpenetti praised the incoming Board, noting their shared experience and commitment to developing lacrosse across one of the sport’s most dynamic regions.
“Each individual brings valuable experiences and perspectives to the Board that reflect the diversity of our membership within our region,” Kitt-Carpenetti said. “On behalf of the Pan-American Lacrosse Association Board, congratulations to Daniela, Calbert, Jason, Cara, and Nico on their election and appointment. We remain thankful to all prior Board members whose foundational work has positioned PALA well for the future.”
The Pan-American Lacrosse Association is the second largest continental federation under World Lacrosse, and it plays a key role in the sport’s development in North, Central, and South America as well as the Caribbean.
Hutchinson’s election is a significant achievement for Jamaica, where lacrosse has grown steadily in recent years under his leadership. A trained educator and administrator, Hutchinson co-founded the Jamaica Lacrosse Association after years of volunteering with international groups. His deep understanding of youth engagement and nonprofit leadership has helped position Jamaica as a rising force in the regional lacrosse landscape.
Now based in Oshawa, Ontario, Hutchinson brings both local and international perspectives to the PALA Board. He holds a Master’s in Educational Administration from the University of the West Indies, a BA in School Leadership and Management from The Mico University College, and additional certifications in Non-Profit Leadership and Green Business Management from Seneca College in Ontario.
His re-election signals growing recognition of Jamaica’s role in the sport's expansion and Hutchinson’s ability to connect with communities, inspire youth, and build sustainable development models for sport across the Americas.
As Vice President, Hutchinson will continue shaping policies and initiatives that foster inclusivity, growth, and opportunity in lacrosse—from Kingston to Kingston, Ontario, and across the entire Pan-American region.
