The Detroit Pistons downed the Boston Celtics 117-97 on Wednesday, making it eight straight wins in a row.
Cade Cunningham believes this season's Detroit Pistons have set about restoring the franchise, but insists there is more to come.
The Pistons are sixth in the Eastern Conference, and claimed their eighth straight win by overcoming the Boston Celtics 117-97 on Wednesday.
In the process, Detroit ended a 12-game losing streak against the Celtics, on the back of stopping a 10-game rot against the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Pistons are now on their longest winning run since 2008, and Cunningham, who poured in 21 points and recorded 11 assists, said: "This is everything we wanted to do - restore this franchise.
"So to see it coming to fruition is a great thing. I'm happy for the city, but I'm not satisfied at all. A lot more work to do.
"I think the city wants to see championships, and we're slowly building toward that."
The Pistons' turnaround under coach J.B. Bickerstaff is even more impressive considering they finished with the worst overall record in the NBA for the past two seasons before this one.
Indeed, their last campaign was the worst in franchise history, with Detroit rounding off with a 14-68 record and lost a league-record 28 straight games, tying the longest overall losing run in NBA history.
"It's trust in each other, trust in our system, confidence, all of it," added Cunningham, as reported by the Detroit News.
"I think everything's going up in the right direction."
Malik Beasley top-scored for the Pistons with 26 points.
"[The Celtics] are a great team, but we owed them one," Beasley said.
"To get this win is huge. We're the Pistons, and we've got to get our respect by continuing to show the world we're not done."
