Elise Seignolle, president of the Pan American Boxing Confederation will begin an official visit to the island starting this Friday, April 25 when she lands at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston. Her five-day visit will conclude on Tuesday, April 29.

President Seignolle will get the opportunity to see Jamaica’s boxing on display during the Gloves Over Guns Futures Programme Saturday night at the Stanley Couch Gym during its end-of-month show which will feature boxers from the Cayman Islands and the United Kingdom.

Stephen 'Bomber' Jones, President of the Jamaica Boxing Association (JBA) welcomes Seignolle’s visit and what it means for Jamaica’s position in the sport. "This weekend marks another historic moment for boxing in Jamaica following the groundbreaking visit from the president of World Boxing," he said. "We are honoured to now welcome Elise Seignolle, the president of the Pan American Boxing Confederation to our shores. Her presence here is not only a vote of confidence in what we are building but it will be a clear signal that Jamaica is fast becoming the heartbeat of Caribbean boxing.

“So, this weekend she will witness first-hand our Futures Program where our young boxers will go up against boxers from the UK and the Cayman Islands to showcase their talents. So that being exciting, Elisa has also made it very clear that she wants our confederation to lead globally, and we here in Jamaica are ready to play our part, acting as the hub of innovation, excellence, and opportunity for the region. So it's exciting times ahead and we're looking forward to welcoming her."

Seignolle was a successful boxer prior her to her transition into administration. She was elected president of the PanAm Boxing Confed earlier this year. Bomber Jones was also elected to the executive of the Confed as a director at the same general meeting.
