The Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) has unveiled a formidable 39-member squad for the upcoming 2025 World Athletics Relays, with global sprint icon Shericka Jackson and Kishane Thompson set to headline a team brimming with Olympic and World Championship pedigree.

The announcement, made on Thursday, signals Jamaica’s serious intent to dominate in both the traditional and mixed relay events in Guangzhou, China, from May 10–11, as the island nation aims to secure automatic qualification spots for the 2025 World Athletics Championships.

Jackson, the reigning World 200m champion and one of the fastest women in history over the half-lap sprint, brings experience, speed, and leadership to the women’s 4x100m and mixed 4x100m relay pools. She is joined by a formidable sprint corps that includes the Clayton twins — Tina and Tia, both World U20 champions — Serena Cole, Alana Reid, and Niesha Burgher, all of whom represent the next generation of Jamaican sprinting.

Also returning to the fold is sprint legend and multiple Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, whose inclusion adds to a blend of youthful energy and veteran poise.

On the men’s side, all eyes will be on Kishane Thompson, who has emerged as one of the fastest men on the planet in recent seasons. His explosive performances last year signaled a resurgence in Jamaica’s male sprinting ranks. He will be flanked by seasoned campaigners like Yohan Blake, Ackeem Blake, and Julian Forte, as well as promising sprinters such as Bryan Levell and Javari Thomas.

The 4x400m and 4x400m mixed relays will feature a strong lineup as well. World Championship finalists Stacey-Ann Williams and Roneisha McGregor will lead the charge for the women, alongside Shiann Salmon, Shana-Kaye Anderson, and Kelly-Ann Beckford. On the men’s side, Rusheen McDonald, Delano Kennedy, and Zandrion Barnes bring quality and depth to a squad that has shown glimpses of world-class potential.

With the Guangzhou meet serving as a critical qualifying event, the stakes will be high — but so too is the calibre of Jamaica’s contingent.
