Jamaican high jump standout Danielle Noble has confirmed her commitment to Clemson University, where she will join the Tigers’ track and field program in Fall 2025. The 17-year-old Wolmer’s Girls’ School athlete has enjoyed a breakout season in 2025, cementing her place as one of the Caribbean’s top junior high jumpers.
Noble recently soared to 1.80m to win her first-ever ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls’ Championships gold medal, a triumph she described as “long overdue.” After years of narrowly missing the top spot, the victory was especially sweet for the quietly determined athlete.
"I think I fell short on execution at 1.83m—something was a little off; either I didn’t arch enough or I didn’t pick my foot fast enough. But I am very proud,” said a smiling Noble after the Champs final. “In previous years, I came in second, and this year I finally got the gold, so I am really proud of myself.”
That winning momentum carried over to the 52nd CARIFTA Games, where Noble again struck gold for Team Jamaica in the Girls U20 High Jump, clearing 1.80m on her first attempt. The clutch performance gave her the edge over teammate Shanniqua Williams, who also cleared 1.80m but needed two tries. The win marked Noble’s second CARIFTA gold medal, following her 1.73m victory in the U17 category at the 2022 Games in Kingston.
With a personal best of 1.82m, Noble brings to Clemson not only impressive stats but also a track record of stepping up on the biggest stages. She has also shown versatility, recording a 5.27m personal best in the long jump.
Clemson’s track and field program will offer Noble the opportunity to develop further under elite coaching while competing in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), known for producing top-tier collegiate athletes. Her commitment to the program adds to Jamaica’s growing list of field event athletes taking their talents to the NCAA system.
Noble’s move comes at a pivotal time in her career as she begins the transition from junior to senior competition, with her sights firmly set on World U20 and future global championships.
With her signature focus, consistent progression, and new chapter ahead, Danielle Noble’s journey is only just taking flight.
