Juventus have announced the signing of Alberto Costa from Vitoria Guimaraes on a permanent transfer.
The 22-year-old has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract to keep him at the club until June 2029 in a deal worth €12.5million.
Costa has made 21 appearances for Vitoria this season and has provided three assists for the club in 10 Primeira Liga matches. He is also one of just four defenders to have provided at least two assists in a single match in the competition this term.
At the other end of the field, among defenders born from 2003 onwards, only Pedro Gomes (34) and Alvaro Carreras (33) have attempted more tackles than Alberto Costa (24).
Following long-term injuries to Bremer and Juan Cabal earlier in the season, Thiago Motta has now taken a step towards bolstering his defence, with Danilo also reportedly closing in on an exit after falling out of favour.
Juventus are also rumoured to be close to signing Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain as they look to improve in the second half of a season that has already seen them register 13 draws in 20 matches.
