
West Indies superstars Nicholas Pooran and Hayley Matthews have been included in the respective ICC Men’s and Women’s T20I Teams of the Year for 2024.
The sport’s governing body released both the Men’s and Women’s T20I Players and Teams of the Year on Saturday.
Pooran is recognised with 464 runs during the year while Matthews, the top-ranked all-rounder in the world and last year’s ICC Women’s T20I Cricketer of the Year, is selected after a year that saw her register 538 runs and 14 wickets.
India’s Arshdeep Singh was named as the Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year while New Zealand’s Amelia Kerr took home the Women’s award.
The ICC Men’s and Women’s T20I Teams of the Year are as follows:
Men’s: Rohit Sharma (Ind) (c), Travis Head (Aus), Phil Salt (Eng), Babar Azam (Pak), Nicholas Pooran (WI) (wk), Sikandar Raza (Zim), Hardik Pandya (Ind), Rashid Khan (Afg), Wanindu Hasaranga (SL), Jasprit Bumrah (Ind), Arshdeep Singh (Ind).
Women’s: Laura Wolvaardt (SA) (c), Smriti Mandhana (Ind), Chamari Athapaththu (SL), Hayley Matthews (WI), Nat Sciver-Brunt (Eng), Amelia Kerr (NZ), Richa Ghosh (Ind) (wk), Marizanne Kapp (SA), Orla Prendergast (Ire), Deepti Sharma (Ind), Sadia Iqbal (Pak).
