The visitors almost took the lead after only four minutes when Besart Topalloj’s effort clipped a post.
But they broke the deadlock after an hour thanks to an immediate impact from substitute Jude Arthurs.
Three minutes after coming off the bench, Arthurs delivered a delightful cross for Whitely to head in the winner.
Both teams had a few chances throughout, but it was Dagenham who looked like opening the scoring, Sam Ling going close from a 62nd-minute corner.
Zak Brunt hit back for Barnet, having a go from the edge of the box in the 73rd minute but curling his effort wide.
However the scoring was finally in the 87th minute when Nik Tavares got a shot away that went in off Barnet defender Nicke Kabamba.
The Daggers went in front through Dan Gallagher’s own goal in the fourth minute. He slid a cross from the right-hand side into the back of his own net.
Their lead did not last long, though, as Harry Ottaway’s shot from outside of the penalty area flew in off the crossbar to equalise for Dorking 10 minutes later.
Dagenham went back in front when Inih Effiong intercepted a loose ball and hit home and Josh Hare sealed the points when he headed home a cross from Myles Weston in the 78th minute.
The Daggers opened the scoring 21 minutes into the contest when Ryan Hill let fly from 25 yards and fired into the top corner to make it 1-0.
The hosts doubled their advantage seven minutes later after Myles Weston’s cross was flicked on by Charley Kendall and Josh Rees was on hand to smash home from close range.
Fylde pulled a goal back just before the break through Taelor O’Kane to give the visitors a route back into the game.
Dagenham re-established their two-goal advantage just before the hour mark after Hill cut in and set up Mussa who finished beautifully.
On-loan Derby forward Brown produced a classy finish for his ninth goal since arriving from Derby in January as Gateshead made it three straight wins.
Kain Adom’s volley for Gateshead was cleared off the goal-line before Brown put them in front in the 27th minute, chipping the ball over Rochdale goalkeeper Jacob Chapman after running on to Edward Francis’s pass.
Gateshead defender Louis Storey’s second-half header from Kieron Evans’ corner struck the crossbar, while Rochdale went close to an equaliser in the closing stages when Tyrese Sinclair’s effort was superbly saved by Nathan Harness.
Brown turned in Ben Worman’s cross from close range to win it in the 76th minute.
It was harsh on Dagenham, who had been on top prior to the goal as James Montgomery kept Gateshead in the match.
The goalkeeper denied Josh Rees one-on-one in the 69th minute and then made a fine stop to keep out Dion Pereira’s shot moments before Brown struck at the other end.
The 18-year-old, on loan from Derby, picked an opportune moment to register his first senior goal by pouncing six minutes minutes into added time.
Play-off hopefuls Gateshead looked set to slip to a frustrating defeat after Kabongo Tshimanga put the 15th-placed hosts on course for victory with a 26th-minute opener.
Luke Hannant and Brown each struck the woodwork for the fifth-placed visitors before their perseverance paid off at the death.
Barnet struck first, with Idris Kanu striking into the top corner after four minutes.
Their lead did not last long as Jayden Mitchell-Lawson fired home to level the scoring in the 11th minute before Bradley Keetch gave the struggling visitors a surprise half-time lead.
Callum Stead headed the hosts level after 51 minutes before Gorman won it for the Bees in the 91st minute, with Maidenhead’s Sam Beckwith and two backroom staff being sent off in the chaotic scenes that followed.
Solihull had sat third in the Vanarama National League and only lost once in the division all season, but the Blues turned the form book upside down with a superb display in front of prospective new owner Justin Rees at Roots Hall.
Kanu, who signed on loan from Charlton earlier this month, opened the scoring after quarter of an hour with a close-range finish and made it 2-0 to Kevin Maher’s side with his second on the stroke of half-time.
Noor Husin grabbed Southend’s third just past the hour mark when he sent a left-footed effort into the corner.
It sparked a period of three goals in five minutes and Kanu completed his treble in the 64th minute when he headed home Jack Bridge’s cross before the teenager made it 5-0 with a poacher’s finish minutes later.
In a match which could be a dress rehearsal for the Vanarama National League play-offs, Barnet took control from the off with Collinge scoring after only 10 minutes.
Just three minutes later, Stead doubled the visitors’ advantage and – although he was forced off later in the first 45 – Dean Brennan’s men withstood a second-half rally by the hosts to earn an impressive three points.
Barnet went ahead when Collinge was able to divert Jordan Crooper’s throw into the net.
It was 2-0 soon after when Stead fired in a second before he had to be withdrawn in the 40th minute.
Play-off hopefuls Halifax attempted to reduce the deficit in the second period but Tottenham loanee Josh Keeley made a number of fine stops to help the second-placed Bees to another win.
Danny Collinge and Nicke Kabamba struck for the second successive game as Barnet followed up their opening win over Hartlepool to join leading duo Southend and Chesterfield on six points.
In a battle between two teams who reached the play-offs last season, Barnet drew first blood in the 25th minute when Collinge stabbed the ball into the bottom corner after an inswinging Ben Coker free-kick had fallen to him in the box – the goal awarded despite claims of handball.
Barnet would have made it 2-0 moments later but for a fantastic save from Grant Smith, who flung himself to his right to somehow keep out Kabamba’s close-range shot.
Another moment of Bromley brilliance, this time at the other end of the pitch, then almost produced a 37th-minute equaliser as Corey Whitely’s blistering 35-yard piledriver crashed back off the crossbar with Laurie Walker well beaten.
Barnet survived that let-off and went on to secure the points in the 64th minute when Zak Brunt pounced on a defensive mistake to tee up Kabamba, who slid the ball through Smith’s legs to leave Bromley propping up the table.
Noble left St Albans this week to take over at Stones, replacing Stuart Maynard who recently made the step-up into the full-time ranks with Notts County.
And Noble was able to enjoy a successful start thanks to goals from Aaron Henry and Tahvon Campbell.
Henry’s first goal of his second spell with the club came 12 minutes in, breaking through a would-be challenge on the edge of the box and flashing a drive across goal and in.
Campbell added a clincher in the third minute of time added on.
Michael Cheek had the ball in the back of the Woking net after 20 minutes, but the offside flag was already raised and it remained goalless at the break with few clear-cut chances for either side.
The hosts survived early second-half attempts by Lewis Walker and Rhys Browne before Woking goalkeeper Will Jaaskelainen denied Cheek.
His save was parried, however, resulting in the Bromley corner that allowed Elerewe to nod in the winner.
Dennon Lewis finished off a swift counter-attack to give the Cardinals a deserved lead on the stroke of half-time.
The hosts, who went into the game on a run of three wins from their last four, pushed for an equaliser but seldom looked like breaking through a resolute visiting defence.
Scott Quigley had two half-chances in eight minutes of added-on time but Woking survived to claim the points.
Mitchell was dismissed for a dangerous tackle on Tom Parkes in the run up to half-time of this mid-table clash, but it was not until the 65th minute that Joe Grey’s close-range finish punished the hosts’ failure to deal with a corner.
Pools goalkeeper Peter Jameson looked to have sealed the points when he pulled off a fine save to deny Cian Hayes at the start of added time, but Dale refused to give up the chase.
Deep into the extra period, the tireless Rodney got on the end of Ryan East long punt upfield, calmly went round Jameson and slid home to snatch a point at the death.
The Shrimpers needed just seven minutes to force their way ahead when they worked the ball from the back for Jack Bridge to send a cross to the far post, where Gus Scott-Morriss slid it home.
Danny Waldron might have doubled the lead within seconds but fired over before Bridge curled an attempt just too high and Dale were level three minutes before the break when Cian Hayes dispossessed Ollie Kensdale and rounded keeper Collin Andeng-Ndi to score.
Rodney fired just over four minutes after the restart before playing in Kairo Mitchell to shoot inches wide with the visitors pressing once again.
Rodney sent another effort past the post as time ran down but he made no mistake after being played in by Ian Henderson in stoppage time.
Former Torquay winger De Silva turned the ball home from close range as the Stones made it back-to-back victories and condemned the Spireites to a third straight defeat since they sealed automatic promotion three weeks ago.
Wealdstone were indebted to goalkeeper Marcus Dewhurst for keeping the Spireites at bay in the first half, making crucial saves to deny Jeff King, Tarryn Allarakhia and Jamie Grimes.
Wealdstone twice threatened through De Silva in the second half as he headed a free-kick wide and then fired just off target from inside the penalty area.
But the winger made no mistake when another chance fell to him in the 74th minute, tapping home from close range to leave his side four points above the drop zone with two games to play.
The hosts had looked on course for victory after Josh Kelly’s second-half penalty but had to settle for a 1-1 draw after Pereira’s solo strike.
With little to separate the sides it was Solihull who took the lead from the spot, Kelly dusting himself off having won the penalty to send Elliot Justham the wrong way.
The Daggers, though, would leave Damson Park with a point as Pereira cut in from the right and curled home.
The home side actually started the better, going ahead through Dipo Akinyemi’s seventh-minute lobbed opener.
But Barnet hit back, Idris Kanu having a goal ruled out for offside before Harry Pritchard equalised from the edge of the box (12).
Kanu gave the visitors the lead from close range (64) and the result was secured three minutes later when Reece Hall-Johnson headed in at the back post.
Zak Brunt nodded in a fourth with eight minutes to go as Barnet rubbed salt into the wound, before Akinyemi’s last-minute consolation.
Dominic Poleon’s 18th-minute goal was enough to give the home side a welcome victory, the forward keeping his composure to clip the ball beyond goalkeeper Alexis Andre Jr.
Josh Casey cleared a Rakish Bingham shot off the line to keep Woking’s hopes of snatching a point alive, but they were unable to find an equaliser.
Substitute Charley Kendall forced goalkeeper Mark Cousins into a good save as the home side held on to secure all three points.
