Carron Hall High School is a government owned institution founded in 1922 by the
Presbyterian Church as a home for girls. It was handed over to the government in 1938 and
was used as a practical training centre. This institution has undergone several changes
since 1938; most famous is the boarding institution, the Carron Hall Vocational Centre for
girls, focusing mainly on areas of home management, home economics and catering skills.
In more recent times it was changed from a vocational school to the Carron Hall High school
for boys and girls and boarding was terminated.
