Team Blue Rising achieved a groundbreaking moment in the E1 Series as Sara Misir secured the team’s first-ever podium finish at the thrilling event in Jeddah.
With a strong performance, Team Blue Rising claimed 24 points on the leaderboard, finishing third overall, behind Aoki Racing (39 points) and Team Rafa (30 points).
The high-stakes race saw Sara Misir and her co-pilot, world electric speed record holder John Peeters (USA), put on a masterclass of strategy and resilience.
Starting in pole position after Peeters’ flawless qualifying lap, Misir capitalised on her inside line, holding second place through the opening lap despite Aoki Racing using their boost to take the lead.
In a strategic move, Misir opted for the long lap early in the race to find clean waters, setting her up for a smooth mid-race push.
However, an unexpected delay in taking the short lap on lap four dropped her to fifth place. Demonstrating poise and determination, Sara fought back, climbing to fourth and finally claiming third place in the final lap to secure the podium finish.
Reflecting on the achievement, she said, “This is a moment of pride and joy for Team Blue Rising. To make history in my rookie event is incredible, but it wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work and dedication of the entire team. We stayed focused, adapted to the challenges, and executed a solid strategy to reach the podium.”
John Peeters commended Sara’s performance, saying “we followed Sara through pre-training all week and she dug in when she needed to. This is a proud day for all of us at Team Blue Rising.”
“This is just the beginning for us,” Misir added.
“We’re eager to build on this success as we head to the next round in Doha, Qatar on February 22”.
