Calvert Fitzgerald has resigned as head coach of Jamaica Premier League club Molynes United with immediate effect but remains as its technical director, Sportsmax.TV has confirmed.

Chairman of Molynes United FC Eurado Cornwall confirmed the development Wednesday night and revealed that Anthony Patrick will take over as head coach.

Patrick’s first match calling the shots from the sidelines will be on July 19 when Molynes United takes on defending champions Portmore United at the UWI JFF Captain Horace Burrell Center of Excellence.

“We appointed Calvert Fitzgerald as the technical director and Anthony Patrick as the head coach based on the route that we are heading and we are taking the club to,” Cornwall said. “He (Fitzgerald) was occupying two positions, technical director [and] head coach. We dropped one of his responsibilities.”.

Fitzgerald first took charge of the Molynes United in 2019 following the resignation of former head coach Lijyasu Simms.

Molynes United FC opened their 2021 campaign with a goalless draw against Vere United FC on June 28th and are currently 10th in the 11-team league on one point.
