The Jamaica Football Federation has confirmed two friendlies for the Reggae Girlz on February 23rd and 26th against South American side Peru. Both matches will take place in the capital city Lima at the Estadio Miguel Grau.
Kick-off of both games is 4 pm. Jamaica and Peru are currently in the same time zone.
This will be the first time that both teams will be facing each other since the 2019 edition of the Pan American Games where Jamaica secured a 1-0 victory. Similar to Jamaica, the Peruvians are using these fixtures in preparation for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup Qualifiers.
President of the Jamaica Football Federation Michael Ricketts said the games are an indication of the federation's commitment to ensuring that the women's senior team is prepared for the coming World Cup qualifiers.
“We are committed to ensuring the FIFA window prior to the World Cup Qualifiers in October 2025, are occupied for the Girlz and this window is no different," the JFF President said.
"We are confident that these friendlies against Peru will continue to aid Coach Busby and his staff in preparing the team for the World Cup Qualifiers later this year as we work towards qualifying for three senior FIFA Women’s World Cups in a row.”
The Reggae Girlz squad for these two friendlies will be unveiled on Friday, February 14.
