Batting first, the Jaguars posted 103-5 in their 10 overs, a total built largely on a powerful late assault from Thesara Perera, who blazed 45 off just 20 balls, including three fours and four towering sixes. Earlier, opener Dan Lawrence contributed a steady 33 from 22 balls with two boundaries and two sixes. Perera’s heroics in the death overs gave the Jaguars a fighting chance, but he fell on the final ball of the innings to Mayers, who bowled a tight over conceding just 10 runs.
Chasing 104 for victory, Team Abu Dhabi got off to a flying start thanks to opener Phil Salt, who hammered 43 off only 20 balls. His blistering knock included four fours and three sixes, setting the tone for a comfortable chase. Michael Pepper added a crucial 23 off 14 deliveries, providing stability in the middle overs.

Uncapped Webster called up for Australia's second India Test
Australia have called up all-rounder Beau Webster for their second Test against India in Adelaide.
The 30-year-old is currently uncapped and will cover for Mitchell Marsh who is a doubt following injury concerns after Australia were defeated by 295 runs in their first Test in Perth.
Webster won Player of the Year in last season’s Sheffield Shield as he scored 938 runs, averaging 58.62 for Tasmania.
He also showed his capabilities as an all-rounder for Australia A against India in two matches preceding this Test series. He hit 145 runs across the two matches and racked up a six-wicket haul in the second match.
Tasmania captain Jordan Silk was complimentary of his team-mates' abilities.
"He's a special player at the moment. Any time we're in trouble, I feel like I can throw him the ball and he just seems to be able to create something. Any time we're in similar trouble with the bat then he's able to dig us out of it,” he said.
"He's basically playing as our third seamer and top-six batter, which is a pretty good luxury to have in our side.
"He'd probably say it was one of the best career moves of all time to give up his dirty offies and go to seam bowling because it's now looking like it could open many more doors for him."
He demonstrated such quality this week, scoring 61 and 49 for Tasmania and taking five wickets with the ball against New South Wales.

Hampshire Hawks win in super-over comeback over Rangpur Riders in Global Super League
The second match of the Global Super League (GSL) saw a thrilling encounter between Hampshire Hawks and Rangpur Riders in Providence, Guyana. Both sides finished their 20 overs on 132 runs apiece and had to be split by the tournament’s first Super Over. The Hawks eventually prospered with one ball to spare, a Liam Dawson smear for six seeing them snatch the points at the last.
Hawks captain Chris Wood took it upon himself to bowl the all-important six balls for the English side, Khushdil Shah opened the shoulders to deposit him down the ground for six but was also run out off the final delivery attempting a third run. The Riders posting 12-1 off their Super Over to leave the Hawks needing 13 to take the spoils.
In response, James Fuller pinged Zak Chappell’s first ball for six over the leg side before the bowler struck back with a slower short ball that Fuller could only club straight up in the air for the bowler to take a simple return catch. With the pressure ramped up and the crowd and both dugouts watching on nervously, Hampshire stalwart Dawson stepped up to seal the win.
Earlier, Wood won the toss and chose to bat first. Shan Masood was the star with the bat in hand for Hampshire as he scored 56 off 41 balls to see that a competitive total of 132 was posted. Masood’s knock was the first half century of the competition and he played shots all around the ground, bringing up his fifty with an audacious reverse hit. The innings would see him scoop the Player of the Match award at the end of the evening.
Masood eventually departed the scene in the final over of Hampshire’s innings, one of five wickers to fall to muscular seamer Chappell. Chappell had an impressive night, bustling in and extracting to some zip out of the Providence surface, picking up both Tom Prest and Joe Weatherley in the fourth over of the match and then cleaning up the Hampshire batting card in the 19th with the removal of Danny Briggs and Sonny Baker in the consecutive deliveries to snuff out the innings.
His impressive figures 5-23 marked a career best but it was a cruel end to the match for him as his batters couldn’t get the job done, failing to get over the line with only 13 runs needed and 18 deliveries in which to get them. The tied score meaning that Chappell was called up to bowl one last over, with fateful consequences.
CWI launches innovative India training camp for emerging talent
Cricket West Indies (CWI) has unveiled a groundbreaking player development initiative, sending seven of the region’s most promising young cricketers to a specialized training camp at the prestigious Chennai Super Kings Academy in India. The two-week program, running from December 1 to 14, represents a significant investment in the future of West Indies cricket and aims to equip the players with vital skills to excel in challenging overseas conditions.
The selected players include three contracted franchise talents — Kirk McKenzie, Matthew Nandu, and Kevin Wickham — alongside current and former West Indies Academy players Teddy Bishop and Jewel Andrew, and ex-West Indies Under-19 standouts Jordan Johnson and Ackeem Auguste. All have showcased impressive potential in regional cricket, earning this opportunity to refine their abilities against spin bowling, a critical area for success in subcontinental conditions.
Accompanied by West Indies Academy head coach Ramesh Subasinghe and assistant coach Rohan Nurse, the group departs for India on November 29. The program will feature a mix of technical training, including specific focus on spin, and match practice, with participants competing in a two-day game and three white-ball fixtures against local teams.

“CWI is committed to providing opportunities for our emerging players in overseas conditions. In this case, the Chennai Academy will host these seven batsmen and aim to equip them with skills and experience in navigating spinning conditions,” Bascombe said. “Our coaches will be on hand to ensure that the learnings in the period can be consolidated and extended to other players in the region through the academy.”
The program offers a comprehensive approach to player development, incorporating input from renowned coaches, including Academy Director Sriram Krishnamurthy and his expert team. Beyond honing technical skills, the camp emphasizes mental resilience and cultural adaptation, preparing players for the demands of international cricket.
The initiative reflects a commitment by CWI to modernize its development pathways, drawing inspiration from successful programs like those undertaken by the New Zealand Test team. The players will also serve as ambassadors upon their return, sharing their experiences and insights with territorial coaches and peers across the Caribbean.
This marks the first time CWI has deployed contracted academy players for such specialized overseas training, signaling a strategic shift towards holistic development. With plans to make this an annual feature of the cricket calendar, CWI continues to invest in the next generation of West Indies stars, ensuring the region remains competitive on the global stage.
