Queen’s Park Cricket Club will meet Clarke Road United in the final of the Premiership 1 T20 tournament on the final day of the CPL/TKR T20 Festival at Queen’s Park Oval on Saturday.

QPCC defeated PowerGen Penal Sports by six wickets in their semi-final on Friday to secure their place in the final.

Chasing a target of 133, Queens Park reached 133 for four in just 15.2 overs with Joshua Da Silva playing the role of opener and anchoring the innings before retiring hurt on 35 with the score on 95 for three.

Andre Fletcher earlier made 40 off 22 balls, striking three fours and three sixes to put the hosts in control of the chase before Jyd Goolie (19 not out off 12 balls) and Darren Bravo (11 off 11) ensured a comfortable victory in the end.

Earlier, after winning the toss and electing to bat, PowerGen struggled to build momentum after losing Cephas Cooper and Videsh Sookhai in the first over of the match.

A steady 46 from Navin Bidaisee was crucial in getting the innings back on track but PowerGen could only manage to get to 132 for seven in their allotted 20 overs.

The six-time champions QPCC will now meet Clarke Road in a repeat of the 2019 final when Queen’s Park won their last T20 trophy.

Clarke Road United are chasing their first T20 title and will be making only their second appearance in the final.
