As they did in Qualifier 1, the Desert Vipers and the Dubai Capitals will lock horns once again, this time to determine the champion of the 2025 International League T20 (ILT20), after the Vipers secured a seven-wicket win over the Sharjah Warriorz in Qualifier 2 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Friday.

The Vipers restricted the Warriorz to 162-7 from their 20 overs after winning the toss and choosing to field first.

Jason Roy led the way with 73 from 56 balls including seven fours and two sixes but no other Warriorz batsman was able to make any score of significance. Karim Janat was the next highest scorer with a brisk 23 off 10 balls while Johnson Charles made a 10-ball 16 at the top of the order.

Pacer Khuzaime Tanveer took 2-20 from three overs for the Vipers and was supported well by leg-spinner Nathan Sowter and medium pacer David Payne who took 2-27 and 2-28 in their eight overs between them.

The Vipers then needed just 16.4 overs to reach 165-3 thanks to good knocks from all but one of their batsmen.

Max Holden and Alex Hales led the way with 48 and 47, respectively, while captain Sam Curran and Dan Lawrence were the men to bring it home with 34* off 15 balls and 28* off 18 balls, respectively.

Pacer Adam Milne took two of the three wickets to fall for the Warriorz while conceding 26 runs in 3.4 overs.

The Vipers will now be looking for revenge against the Dubai Capitals in the final to be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

The Capitals beat the Vipers by five wickets in a last-ball thriller in Qualifier 1 on Wednesday.
