A second consecutive low score from West Indies ODI captain Shai Hope didn’t matter as his Hobart Hurricanes defeated the Adelaide Strikers by five wickets at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart on Sunday.

The Strikers, after captain Alex Ross won the toss and chose to bat, posted 186-5 from their 20 overs.

Chris Lynn led the way with a 27-ball 49 including five fours and three sixes while captain Ross made 47* off 29 balls, hitting six fours and a six in the process.

Ollie Pope and Jamie Overton also had valuable contributions with 33 and 27*, respectively, against 2-22 off two overs from Waqar Salamkheil.

The Hurricanes then needed only 18.4 overs to reach 187-5 and secure their fourth win in five games to move to third in the points table.

Tim David led the way with 62* off just 28 balls including three fours and six sixes while opener Mitchell Owen had earlier made 37 off 16 balls.

Hope followed up his four in the last game with 11 off 12 balls on Sunday.

Leg spinners Cameron Boyce and Lloyd Pope each took two wickets for the Strikers.
