He's Saquon Barkley, it's a huge loss - Giants wait on injury news amid ACL fears

Barkley injured his knee as he ran to the sideline and was tackled by Eddie Jackson during the first quarter of the Giants' 17-13 loss to the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.

The third-year back immediately grabbed his knee and punched the ground in disgust, before being carted to the locker room on a day when several NFL players suffered serious injuries.

Barkley will undergo tests on Monday to determine whether he has torn his anterior cruciate ligament. ESPN reported that was the injury the Giants feared he had suffered.

"Obviously we're all praying for the best," head coach Joe Judge said afterwards.

"I would just say this, regardless of whatever the outcome is going to be and what the doctors say tomorrow, I wouldn't fall asleep on [number] 26. It's going to be a hell of a story either way."

Barkley's absence allowed former New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans back Dion Lewis to handle a bigger workload.

He issued a rallying cry, insisting that everyone on the Giants team needs to up their game if their best offensive player is missing for an extended period of time.

"He's Saquon Barkley, so you lose a guy like that, it's a huge loss," Lewis added.

"But you know, as a team, everybody's got to step up. Receivers got to step up, O-line's got to step up, running backs have got to step up, quarterback's got to step up, defense has got to step up, everybody has got to step up.

"It's not going to be one person who steps up to make up for what he's done, it's going to take all of us."

Veteran running back Adrian Peterson sent his best wishes to Barkley, writing on Twitter: "@saquon a born winner!! The comeback is going to be scary"

Barkley, the second overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, had over 2,000 yards from scrimmage in his first year and was voted the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Year.

He failed to hit those heights in his second year, though, as he was troubled by an ankle problem and his 2020 season could end with just 94 total yards.

Packers release tight end Graham as Titans let duo go

Tight end Graham spent two seasons with the Packers, posting 100 receptions for 1,191 yards with five touchdowns in 34 games, including two outings in the playoffs.

The 33-year-old, a five-time Pro Bowler, previously played for the New Orleans Saints and the Seattle Seahawks.

"The last two years have certainly been interesting! A lot of memories, friendships and humbling moments that I will carry with me into the next opportunity," Graham wrote on Twitter.

"Thank you for the support during our exciting run this year toward that ever so elusive ring.”

The Titans, meanwhile, confirmed the departures of running back Lewis and linebacker Wake, saving them nearly $10million in cap space ahead of free agency.

A Super Bowl winner in February 2017 with the New England Patriots, Lewis spent two seasons with Tennessee, rushing for 726 yards and posting 84 receptions for 564 yards and two touchdowns.

Wake played in nine games but finished the previous campaign on injured reserve. It was his solitary year with the Titans, having previously spent 10 seasons with the Miami Dolphins.
