Newspaper reports in Italy and his native France accused Rabiot of taking personal action in response to seeing his salary slashed, with all Serie A clubs taking such measures to protect their finances during the league's suspension.
But Rabiot managed to see the funny side, posting a photo of himself looking distracted to his Instagram story with the caption, "when you realise it was the last day of… strike" accompanied by laughing emojis.
A follow-up post featured an illustration of a medicine bottle, its label reading: "Newspapers-TV, press – do not swallow".
Rabiot has been self-isolating in France during the pandemic and remains there despite many of his team-mates returning to training in Turin, as Serie A edges closer to resuming.
His decision to stay in France is, according to a report from an Italian newspaper, what his "personal strike" has amounted to, though he is expected to travel to Italy on Wednesday.
He will be forced to endure another 14-day period of self-isolation after arriving, as the Italian government is instructing those returning from abroad to quarantine themselves in an attempt to quell COVID-19's spread.
The virus has been contracted by over 221,000 people in Italy, with more than 30,000 of them dying.
Les Bleus are preparing to face Spain in the last four on Tuesday, their fourth semi-final appearance in six major tournaments under Deschamps.
Reports in France suggested Deschamps only told his players the starting lineup for Friday's quarter-final against Portugal when they were en route to the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg.
It has since been claimed that team news and tactical details were leaked on several occasions throughout the tournament, leading Deschamps to keep his own players in the dark.
Rabiot confirmed that was the case, telling reporters at a pre-match press conference: "It is more in relation to hiding things from you than in relation to us.
"Inevitably, there is collateral damage. It's difficult for the coach, when he's trying to implement his strategy because the information leaks out when training is barely over.
"It is not nice to see that when you really work hard on something, that at the end of the session, the media have already caught wind of it.
"It's a shame for us and also for you because when it leaks, it tips off the opponents about things we're trying to work on. We're trying to keep things up our sleeve right until the last minute, right until kick-off.
"The coach has been trying to cover his tracks. He's worked on different formations with us.
"But even if he changes the formation at the last minute, we know exactly what we need to do in each of these formations. You always must have the ability to adapt."
France are not the only team to have been affected by media leaks while in Germany, with England boss Gareth Southgate lamenting the way the Three Lions' switch to a 3-4-3 formation became public ahead of their quarter-final versus Switzerland.
After England advanced via a 5-3 penalty shoot-out win, a frustrated Southgate said: "Our tactical plan for the game was shared three days before.
"We live in an amazing world where it's so difficult for us because any element of surprise you might have is gone three days before. It's quite incredible really."
Kean had not scored since April, but the striker set Juve on their way to victory with an early strike at the Allianz Stadium.
Weston McKennie doubled the Bianconeri's lead with his first Serie A goal of the season, heading home in the second half, and Rabiot added a late double to cap an impressive performance.
That is now back-to-back wins for Massimiliano Allegri's side, who moved up a place to seventh ahead of a must-win Champions League clash at Benfica next week.
Juve started with great intensity and were rewarded just eight minutes in when Filip Kostic whipped in a cross from the left and an unmarked Kean applied the finish from close range.
Kean should have found the net again just after the half-hour mark but headed a McKennie cross wide from six yards out.
The Bianconeri demonstrated the danger they pose from set-pieces to double their lead nine minutes into the second half, McKennie rising to powerfully head Juan Cuadrado's delivery into the roof of the net.
Kean nodded in another sublime Kostic delivery but had his celebrations cut short after straying offside as hungry Juve continued to cause problems.
Juve scored another goal from a Cuadrado corner after 82 minutes, Guglielmo Vicario unable to palm away Rabiot's header before it crossed the line.
The France midfielder then capped a great evening for the Turin giants when Danilo's cross gave him a tap-in at the end.
The France international has been heavily linked with a move away from Turin, with his contract with the Bianconeri due to expire in June.
Former club PSG are reportedly interested in re-signing the midfielder, who won five Ligue 1 titles and racked up over 200 appearances during his first spell with the French giants between 2010 and 2019.
But the 27-year-old's immediate attention is on ensuring a strong end to the 2022-23 campaign with Juve who, despite a 15-point deduction, are just four points outside the top four.
When asked about the reported PSG interest, he told Telefoot: "Honestly, there is nothing special. I hear a lot of noise. I know that many people are interested in it.
"But I repeat: I am very focused on this end of the season with Juventus."
Rabiot is Juventus' second-top scorer in Serie A this season with seven goals, a tally bettered only by Dusan Vlahovic (eight).
The central midfielder has also registered three assists in the Italian top flight, with only Filip Kostic (eight) and Angel Di Maria (four) recording more for the Bianconeri.
Premier League leaders Liverpool are reportedly keen to strengthen this close season, albeit without spending huge amounts.
Sane, meanwhile, has been linked with Bayern Munich, and that move could be getting closer to reality.
