Jamaica's Sunshine Girls have climbed to third in World Netball’s global rankings, surpassing England, who have dropped to fourth. The rankings update, reflecting matches played up to November 26, comes after the Sunshine Girls’ triumphant 2-1 victory over England in the Horizon Series.

The Sunshine Girls’ ascent was driven by their impressive performance in the four-match series against England, who were ranked second at the time. The series began in mid-November in England, where Jamaica held the Roses to a 49-49 draw in the first match. England responded with a 55-47 win in the second match, but Jamaica turned the tide when the series moved to home soil. Backed by a raucous crowd at the National Indoor Sports Centre, the Sunshine Girls edged England 50-49 in the third match before sealing the series with a commanding 61-53 victory in the final game.

The Sunshine Girls’ climb to third comes with England’s drop to fourth, reflecting the significance of the series outcome. Jamaica now holds a rating of 189 points, just behind second-ranked New Zealand (192 points) and leaders Australia (204 points). England, with a rating of 188 points, now trail the Sunshine Girls after their series loss.

Jamaica’s rise underscores their consistent excellence, while England’s fall highlights the increasing competitiveness at the top of the rankings.

The Sunshine Girls remain the highest-ranked team in the Caribbean, far ahead of their regional counterparts. Former world champions, Trinidad and Tobago are the next closest, ranked 11th, with Barbados and St. Vincent and the Grenadines sitting at 16th and 17th, respectively. Grenada rounds out the top 20 for the region.
