Ziadie won the Five-Stand contest, was runner-up in the 200 Target Sporting Clays in a competitive Super-Six shoot-off among the top six shooters and he was also second in A Class of the Super Sporting Event.

For his efforts, he took home the J C Thwaites Crystal.

At 26, he is the youngest shooter to be crowned national shotgun champion.

“It’s a dream come true.  I have envisioned myself winning this award from I was at a young age.  My grandfather won it, my dad has been pretty close, I think he was runner-up one year so it's just great to keep it in the family,” he said.

“I am the third generation in my family to win this award so it's just a dream come true."

Ray McMaster, the runner-up took home the Hugh Croskery Cup.

Among the women, Wendy McMaster won her fifth national shooting title after winning the Super Sporting event and was came second to her daughter Aliana in the Five-Stand. McMaster was also second in Fitasc to Lori-Anne Harris and was to Aliana in the 200 Target Sporting Clays.

The respective class champions are as follows:

A Class for the Best Dressed Chicken Cup - Shawn Barnes; B Class for the Peter McConnell Cup - Craig Davis; C Class for the Khaleel Azan Cup - Brandon King; D Class for the Errol Zaidie Cup - Richard Todd; E Class for the Tony Kelly Cup- Matthew Grant; Hunters or Beginners Class - Lukas Thompson; Juniors for the Junior Challenge Trophy – David Wong and Sub Juniors - Lori-Anne Harris.

"I really enjoy the competitiveness of the sport and being part of a team and pushing myself to do things that I have tried to do or can't do,” Harris remarked afterwards.

“I have learned to control my emotions like when I don't hit a shot I am supposed to compose myself and reset."
