In a bold move to further solidify its support for Jamaican sports, TruShake has renewed its partnership with Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited (SVREL) for an additional two years.
The collaboration also extends to four standout jockeys—Reyan Lewis, Tevin Foster, Javaniel Patterson, and reigning champion Raddesh Roman—a move that Marketing Manager Lauren Mahfood said highlights TruShake’s commitment to foster excellence in the local horse racing industry.
In fact, Mahfood pointed to her company’s dedication to Jamaican sports and the careful thought behind their choice of ambassadors, which include sprinter hurdler Megan Tapper and decorated driver Fraser McConnell.
“TruShake is committed to the development of sports in Jamaica. We've been a part of the football industry, the rallycross industry, the track industry, and the horse racing industry. It's been amazing to support Jamaica's talented athletes.” Mahfood said during the renewal at Caymanas Park on Tuesday.
“And when we look for athletes to sign at Trushake, a lot of thought goes into the process. We look for athletes that are passionate, we look for athletes that are dedicated, and we look for athletes that strive to succeed,” she added.
Lauren Mahfood presents a symbolic agreement to champion jockey Raddesh Roman.
Mahfood praised the jockeys for their passion and dedication, as she recollected the thrilling rivalry between Foster and Roman in last year’s Jockeys’ Championship.
“We couldn’t have asked for more as a sponsor. We love that competitive spirit, great sportsmanship, and the desire to be the best. To my TruShake jockeys, it is an honour to sponsor you and to be on this journey with you. We’re looking forward to celebrating your successes and shaking things up at Caymanas Park,” she declared.
Christopher Wills, SVREL’s Vice President of Operations, lauded TruShake’s pioneering role as one of the first brands to recognize the potential of horse racing and invest in the sport.
“Jamaica has no shortage of outstanding sportsmen and sportswomen in many other disciplines. TruShake could have chosen to work with anyone else. However, they made a decision to sign with four exceptional horsemen, and we are very grateful for that,” Wills said.
He noted that the partnership has elevated the profile of horse racing in Jamaica, with the four jockeys collectively riding over 1,000 races last season while proudly representing the TruShake brand.
“The renewal of this agreement is a testament to the strength of our partnership and the shared vision we have for the future. TruShake’s support will once again enable us to deliver world-class experiences to our patrons while providing our jockeys with the platform they deserve to shine as ambassadors for both Caymanas Park and TruShake,” Wills stated.
“We are deeply grateful for TruShake's confidence in us and their continued investment in the growth of horse racing. This partnership is not just about sponsorship. It's about building a legacy and creating opportunities for the sport and the community we serve,” he added.
Reigning champion Roman expressed gratitude on behalf of the riders.
“We the jockeys appreciate the sponsorship, as you can see. Big up to all the TruShake jockeys who had a great season last year. Hopefully, it will be a better season this year where three of us can go head-on in the championship,” Roman said.
