Sebert Walker Jr. dropped six shots by the end of the third day of the Jamaica Golf Association's National Senior Trials at the Half Moon Golf Course in St. James but still enjoys a sizeable buffer over the rest of the field.
Waker Jr shot a six-over-par 78 for a three-day total of two under par 214, which has him four shots clear of last year's winner Justin Burrowes.
"The round today was a little bit rougher day,” said Walker Jr who shot seven bogeys on the day.
“It was a slower start but overall I still felt pretty good in my game. I just took a little bit of time to adjust to the greens. So that played a big part in my going a few more over than I would have liked but I can't complain, it’s still decent playing for me and I just have to adjust and go out there and perform a little better tomorrow."
Conversely, Burrowes had his best day after shooting a one-under-par 71, the only player to post an under-par score on the day. He made four birdies and three bogeys.
Meanwhile, veteran golfer Owen Samuda moved up to third on the back of his two-over-par 74. However, he is still 14 shots off the lead with his combined score of 228.
Junior golfer Ryan Lue dropped from third to fourth place after shooting 78 for a three-day total of 230.
Former national golf champion William Knibbs moved up one place to fifth position with his best score to date of 73 and is one shot behind Ryan Lue with a combined score of 231.

Among the women, Emily Mayne reassumed the lead from Jodi Munn-Barrow after shooting 77 for a combined three-day score of 234.
Munn-Barrow suffered her toughest day with six bogeys and two double bogeys in her score of 82. However, she is only four shots off the lead.
