The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) has come out in support of striker Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw, who was recently subjected to racist and misogynistic abuse, as it condemns any form of discrimination.
“We unequivocally condemn such actions. The JFF does not tolerate any form of prejudice or hate. As a nation that proudly upholds the motto “Out of Many, One People,” our diversity, creativity, and passion are what have led to producing talented footballers who have gone on to represent our country,” the JFF declared in a release.
Shaw, who withdrew from Manchester City’s recent encounter against Arsenal after the abuse, has chosen not to publicly share the messages, a decision the JFF fully respects.
“We kindly ask that the media and the wider football community also honour her wishes. We understand that an investigation is underway, and we trust that the relevant stakeholders involved in this process will handle the matter thoroughly,” the JFF said.
