High-flying Ipswich came from a goal down to stretch their unbeaten run in the Sky Bet Championship to nine games with a 3-2 victory over Plymouth.
Morgan Whittaker scored a stunning opener for the visitors after seven minutes but Town equalised with time running out in the first half following an own goal by former Norwich full-back Bali Mumba and George Hirst gave Town the lead just after the break.
Ipswich goalkeeper Vaclav Hladky came to the rescue as Argyle pressed during the closing stages, but Marcus Harness struck in the 86th minute to put the game beyond Argyle, despite a late reply from Joe Edwards.
The result keeps Ipswich nine points ahead of third-placed Leeds and five points behind leaders Leicester.
The Tractor Boys almost took the lead after three minutes when Conor Chaplin played in Hirst who prodded the ball goalwards but Plymouth goalkeeper Michael Cooper managed to grab the ball on the goal-line.
Argyle struck first through Whittaker. He collected the ball on the right and strode forward before unleashing a terrific shot from 20 yards which flew past Hladky and into the top-left corner of the goal.
Sierra Leone international Mustapha Bundu, who was brought on in the 19th minute for Argyle’s Ryan Hardie, found himself in acres of space on the right and as he progressed into the Ipswich penalty area, George Edmundson managed to make a last-ditch tackle just outside the box, despite appeals for a free-kick from the visitors.
That was the impetus Town needed to get back into the game and they equalised in the 47th minute through an own goal from Mumba.
It came following Ipswich’s ninth corner of the game. Adam Randall headed the ball across the penalty area and Massimo Luongo back-heeled the ball towards goal, striking Mumba and trickling past Cooper into the goal.
Town took the lead in the 54th minute through Hirst. Leif Davis played a sumptuous ball forward and the Ipswich striker raced clear to fire the ball beyond the despairing Cooper from just inside the penalty area.
Ipswich came close to scoring a third when Omari Hutchinson’s turn and shot inside the penalty area was deflected behind and Town keeper Hladky proved to be the saviour when he first produced a wonderful save from a Dan Scarr header and used his feet to deny Joe Edwards.
The home side confirmed their victory when a low cross from Davis found Harness whose first shot was blocked but he made no mistake at the second attempt.
However, they had to see out a nervous final few minutes when Edwards squeezed a shot past Hladky in the first minute of stoppage time.
Van Dijk and De Jong leave Netherlands squad on 'medical grounds'
Virgil van Dijk and Frenkie de Jong have left the Netherlands’ squad ahead of their final Nations League game on "medical grounds".
Both players featured in the Oranje's 4-0 victory over Hungary on Saturday, a match which confirmed their place in the quarter-finals.
Van Dijk, who has been an ever-present for Liverpool in the Premier League this season, played the full 90 minutes in Amsterdam but will return to his club for further assessment.
De Jong, meanwhile, returned to the Netherlands line-up for the first time since September 2023 in that victory, having missed the previous 18 international matches due to injuries.
The Barcelona man was taken off after 68 minutes, and had confirmed after the game that he would not be featuring on Tuesday, but has now opted to return to Spain instead of staying with the national squad.

The Netherlands will finish second in Group A3, with their result against already relegated Bosnia-Herzegovina unable to affect the standings.
Real Madrid 0-4 Barcelona: Guijarro brace sets visitors up for Clasico glory
Patri Guijarro's first-half brace set Barcelona on their way to a thumping 4-0 win over rivals Real Madrid in Liga F on Saturday.
Claudia Pina and Alexia Putellas were also on target as Barcelona continued their perfect start to the season, extending their lead at the top of the table.
The visitors dominated from the off, as Guijarro broke the deadlock inside the fourth minute, tapping in from Putellas' flick-on from a corner.
Cata Coll was forced into a big save to deny Alba Redondo an equaliser shortly after, but Madrid's hope was soon dented as Guijarro picked out the bottom corner with a superb long-range strike for her second.
Pina strengthened their lead six minutes before the break, clinically slotting past Misa with her low strike.
Putellas added some more gloss to the scoreline with four minutes remaining of normal time, beating the Madrid keeper with a lovely dink to bring up her 199th goal for the club.
Barcelona have won all 10 of their games, and now sit eight points clear of Madrid, who suffered their first league defeat of the campaign.

Madrid will have felt fairly confident coming into this game after a strong start to their season, but they once again failed to find a way past their Clasico rival.

Barcelona smothered their attack early on, restricting their hosts to just one shot in the first half, while they had 10.
Indonesia 0-4 Japan: Visitors stay unbeaten with rout
Japan continued their unbeaten start to World Cup qualifying with a 4-0 victory over Indonesia on Friday.
Two goals from the visitors in either half were enough to seal the three points and get them back to winning ways after a stalemate with Australia last time out.
Ragnar Oratmangoen should have put Indonesia ahead, but he hesitated one-on-one with the goalkeeper, and Japan did not look back after that. They got a bit of fortune with their first goal, Justin Hubner deflecting a cross into his own net in the 35th minute.
Takumi Minamino got their second just before the break, finishing off a pacy counter-attack by darting onto the end of Kaoru Mitoma’s cross to sweep it past Maarten Paes.
While there was not much the goalkeeper could do with that one, he was at fault for the third as he gifted the ball to Hidemasa Morita, who coolly picked out the bottom corner just after the break.
Yukinari Sugawara came off the bench to round off the scoring in the 69th minute. He raced down the right wing and instead of looking to his options, he rifled it in from a tight angle at the near post.
Japan are up to 13 points after five games, sitting top of Group C, while Indonesia are bottom, still in search of their first win.

For a team still chasing their first win, Japan are probably not high on the list of opponents they would want to face, and Indonesia were undone by their visitors.
Hajime Moriyasu's side created 0.79 expected goals (xG) to Indonesia's 0.72, while they only had four more shots than their hosts (12 compared to eight).
Japan took their chances, and though the win margin may look harsh, they were deserving of the three points, having dominated throughout the game.
