• Israel 0-2 Italy: Frattesi and Kean keep Azzurri perfect

  Davide Frattesi continued his hot streak under Luciano Spalletti as his first-half strike helped Italy on their way to a 2-1 win over Israel in the Nations League. 

  Moise Kean netted his fifth international goal to double the Azzurri's advantage after the break, with substitute Mohamed Abu Fani scoring a late consolation for the hosts.

  Despite a bright start from Israel, the visitors regained control of the contest as Alessandro Bastoni and Federico Dimarco threatened in the wide positions. 

  But a familiar face found himself on the scoresheet once again, with Frattesi netting his sixth goal under Spalletti's stewardship with a delicate chested finish from Dimarco's delivery. 

  Italy's dominance continued in the second half and was rewarded in the 62nd minute when Giacomo Raspadori's effort was saved by Yoav Gerafi, only for Kean to smash home the rebound. 

  Israel, however, threatened a nervy conclusion to proceedings as Italy's failure to clear a corner was punished by Abu Fani with a fine finish from the edge of the area, but the Azzurri were able to hold on for the victory.

  Italy fielded five starting players born since 2000 for the first time in their history in Samuele Ricci, Raspadori, Sandro Tonali, Kean and Raoul Bellanova. 

  Kean registered an expected goals (xG) total of 0.56 to Italy's 1.56 total, recording the most shots (three) and touches in the opposition box (seven) for the Azzurri.

  Emma Hayes said she "sees so much of herself" in legendary Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

  Hayes, who left her role at Chelsea at the end of last season, took charge of the United States women's national team in May, with her first test being the Paris Olympics. 

  She guided the USWNT to their fifth gold medal in the French capital, defeating Brazil 1-0 in the final thanks to Mallory Swanson's 57th minute goal. 

  After the triumph, Hayes revealed that Ferguson was the first person to congratulate her on the win, going on to say she sees similarities between herself and the Scot.

  “I see so much of myself in him. His was the first text I received when we won gold," Hayes said in an interview with The Telegraph.

  Hayes spent the early part of her coaching career in the United States, managing the Long Island Lady Riders, Iona Gaels and Chicago Red Stars before her move back to England in 2012.

  But her success with the USWNT in Paris is something she had dreamed about growing up in London, a triumph that still strikes an emotional chord a month later.

  “I still get a lump in my throat thinking about it,” Hayes says of winning at the Olympics.

  “I fill up every time. I have dreamt about it. I have played that out on the pitches by the flats in Camden."

  During her time with Chelsea, Hayes won 16 major honours, including the Women's Super League title for the last five consecutive seasons. 

  The 47-year-old oversaw 367 matches for the Blues, winning 261 (D42 L64), ending her 12-year stint at the club with a win percentage of 71.12%. 

  She also came close to winning the Women's Champions League in the 2020-21 season, with Chelsea well beaten in the showpiece match by Barcelona. 

  Despite her success in SW3, Hayes welcomed the change in scenery but understood her success with the Blues put her in a pressurised position.

  “I was happy for my time at Chelsea to come to an end,” Hayes said.

  “Pressure comes with the position I am in and certainly comes with the winning history I have. I accept that. 

  “But I have enjoyed feeling joyful again.

  "I didn’t realise how debilitating grief is and how much both grief and my own personal struggles of the last few years have really sapped me of everything.

  "I am so happy to turn a page. Proud of everything I have done at Chelsea but happy to be in this new space.”

• Arsenal handed BK Hacken reunion, Man City to face Paris FC in Women's Champions League

  Arsenal, Manchester City and Celtic found out their opponents for the Women's Champions League qualifying second round on Monday. 

  All three will play the first leg away from home, with Jonas Eidevall's side, who beat Rangers and Rosenborg to reach this stage of the tournament, facing BK Hacken. 

  The Swedish side reached the quarter-finals last year for the first time in the competition since the 2012-13 edition.

  BK Hacken also played Arsenal in the last eight of the tournament during the 2011-12 season, with the Gunners winning 3-2 on aggregate. 

  Man City kickstart their Champions League campaign after finishing second in the Women's Super League last term against Paris FC.

  The French side beat Real Madrid home and away last year but finished third in a group that contained Chelsea and BK Hacken. 

  Celtic were the only British team to be involved in the Champions Path draw and will face Ukrainian champions Vorskla Poltava.

  The first legs of the two-legged ties will take place on September 18 and 19, with the returns on September 25 and 26.

  Those that emerge victorious in the round-two qualifying fixtures will progress to the group stages of the competition, joining Barcelona, Lyon, Bayern Munich and Chelsea.
