Led by a sensational knock from Jaker Ali, who smashed an unbeaten 72 off 41 balls, Bangladesh posted 189 for 7, their highest total on West Indies soil. In reply, the hosts crumbled to their lowest-ever T20I total against Bangladesh, managing only 109 runs.
Jaker Ali delivered a performance to remember, cementing his status as Bangladesh’s standout player of the tour. His innings included six towering sixes and three fours, turning a precarious situation into a commanding total. The drama surrounding his innings added to the spectacle.
Walking off the field after a run-out mix-up, Jaker was called back to the crease by the third umpire, who ruled that his partner, Shamim Hossain, was the one dismissed. The West Indies batting lineup continued their dismal form, losing half their side for fewer than 50 runs for the third consecutive match. Taskin Ahmed set the tone early by dismissing Brandon King, while Mahedi Hasan removed Justin Greaves and Johnson Charles in quick succession.
Nicholas Pooran, who struggled throughout the series, was bowled by Mahedi for the third time, leaving the hosts reeling at 45 for 3 after the powerplay.
Leg-spinner Rishad Hossain dismantled the West Indies middle order with figures of 3 for 21, including the key wicket of Rovman Powell. His sharp fielding also resulted in the run-out of Charles, adding to the home side’s woes.
