Bangladesh strolled to a historic first victory in South Africa in the first of three ODIs at Centurion.
The tourists set their opponents a target of 315 thanks to three players making half-centuries, but South Africa never really looked like reaching it as they were beaten by 38 runs.
Openers Tamim Iqbal (41) and Litton Das (50) gave Bangladesh a strong start from which to build their innings with a partnership of 95.
Andile Phehlukwayo (1-63) finally made a breakthrough in the 22nd over, before Litton Das was dismissed by Keshav Maharaj (2-56) an over after reaching his half-century
After Mushfiqur Rahim (nine) had hit a Maharaj delivery high in the air for David Miller to catch, the next big partnership came from Shakib Al Hasan, who hit a dazzling 77, and Yasir Ali (50), who added 115 before the former was trapped leg before wicket to Lungi Ngidi (1-75).
Yasir was out soon after, but Mahmudullah (25), Afif Hossain (17) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (19 not out) helped Bangladesh reach 314-7 from 50 overs.
South Africa's reply started badly when Janneman Malan edged a Shoriful Islam delivery through to Mushfiqur, though major damage came in the ninth over as Kyle Verreynne (21) and Aiden Markram (0) both fell to Taskin Ahmed.
Temba Bavuma and Rassie van der Dussen did well to rebuild the innings, putting on 85 together before the Proteas' skipper clipped one from Shoriful to Mushfiqur on 31.
Taskin took the key wicket of Van der Dussen, who played it straight to Yasir 14 runs short of his century.
Miller gave his all with a resilient 79 that included three sixes, but the spin of Mehidy (4-61) cleaned up the tail as the Proteas slumped to 276 all out.
Shakib shows his class
The world number one ranked all-rounder was at his best with the bat here, plundering 77 from 64 balls as he added significant gleam to the hard work put in by the openers.
Shakib hit 10 boundaries, with seven fours and three sixes as he achieved his best ODI score against South Africa in 15 matches, and his highest score of 2022 so far.
Taskin clinical
Mehidy took more wickets but it was Taskin who initially kept the hosts down. His figures of 3-36 from his 10 overs meant that by the time Mehidy was taking late wickets, the job was more or less done.
Like Shakib, this was also Taskin's best ODI performance against the Proteas, albeit only from four meetings.
Bucks confident of returning to the top after Lillard trade
Damian Lillard will be tasked with helping the Milwaukee Bucks return to the top of the NBA after his trade from the Portland Trail Blazers.
Star guard Lillard signed for the Bucks on Wednesday in a three-way trade – which also included the Phoenix Suns – that saw Jrue Holiday, Deandre Ayton and Toumani Camara on the move too.
Lillard leaves Portland after 11 years with the Trail Blazers. He is a seven-time All-Star and enjoyed a career-best season in 2022-23, averaging 32.2 points and 7.3 assists, though he did sit out the final month of the season due to injury.
Now, the Bucks – the 2021 NBA Champions – will be hoping that Lillard can combine with two-time league MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo to push them towards another title, following a disappointing first-round exit at the hands of the Miami Heat in last season's playoffs.

Lillard a difference-maker
"His character, competitiveness, talent and experience complement our group and gives us the best chance to win at the very highest level as we create new memories together," Bucks general manager Jon Horst said of Lillard.
So, does Lillard have what it takes to make the difference for the Bucks?
Lillard leaves Portland as a franchise great. He ranks first in team history in points and three-pointers and second in assists. Including the playoffs, he had 17 games with 50+ points for the Blazers. All other players in franchise history have only combined for seven 50-point games. He is a big-game player, and he should help ease the burden on Antetokounmpo.
Rahmarack stars with the ball as Windies Women defeat New South Wales by four wickets at Wilson Park
The West Indies Women got their tour of Australia off to a winning start with a four-wicket victory over a New South Wales (NSW) Women's team at Wilson Park.
Karishma Ramharack had the NSW ladies spun tightly in her web of off-spin and were restricted to posted 105-9 from their 20 overs. Ramharack finished with figures of 3-12. Captain Hayley Matthews supported with some wizardry of her own taking 2-7 from her two overs.
NSW skipper Sammy-Jo Johnson was the top-scorer with 28 with Hannah Darlington making 24.
Shemaine Campbelle led the West Indies Women's run-chase posting 33 from 34 deliveries which included five boundaries. Skipper Matthews was next best with 24 off 27. Aaliyah Alleyne 19 not out and Zaida James 15 not out took the visitors home to victory in 17.5 overs.
Head Coach Shane Deitz was pleased with the team's first outing since arriving in Australia four days ago.
“It's good to get the first win on tour. I think we've got a lot of areas we need to improve on, especially getting used to batting on these wickets with some extra pace and bounce. Overall, I think we played generally good all-round and it's going to put us in a good position to play on Sunday,” he said.
The ODI series against Australia is West Indies’ fourth fixture in the ICC Women’s Championship 2022-2025 after playing New Zealand, England and Ireland.
Each match provides West Indies with opportunity to win valuable points to climb the Championship table where they currently lie ninth of 10 teams.
Following the Australia Series, West Indies Women will play four three-match ODI series over the next two years. At the end of the cycle, the top five teams in the ICC Women’s Championship will book berths in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in 2025 along with hosts India.
The remaining teams will have to go through the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier.
Surrey retain County Championship title after Essex batting collapse
Surrey have retained their LV= Insurance County Championship title as Essex’s slim hopes ended after their batters collapsed in a heap against Northamptonshire.
A 20-point gap between the top two Division One teams heading into the final round meant Surrey needed just five points in their fixture against Hampshire to celebrate a 21st championship triumph.
They secured three bowling bonus points at the Ageas Bowl but none with the bat, which opened the door for Essex, who needed to amass a 400-plus score in 110 overs to have any chance of catching Surrey.
But Essex were unable to claim the maximum amount of batting bonus points as they capitulated to 211 all out on Thursday morning, with last man Jamie Porter bowled by Tom Taylor to crown Surrey champions.
Surrey, who have won the championship five times since the turn of the century, became the first side since Yorkshire in 2014 and 2015 to claim back-to-back titles.
