Former Reggae Boyz Assistant Coach Miguel Coley is celebrating this week following Umm Salal SC II being crowned champions of the Qatar Reserve League.
His side secured the league title following a 1-1 draw with Qatar SC II on Wednesday.
In the league contested by reserve squads of teams in the Qatar Stars League, Umm Salal finished the season with 28 points from 11 games, just one ahead of Al Wakrah II and two ahead of Al Shamal II.
The achievement, another feather in Coley's cap, was a boon to the former high school coach, who left Jamaica four years ago in a bid to further develop his coaching skills.
"An amazing feeling to win my first title in Qatar as a head coach,” Coley said in a post on Facebook.
“Such an amazing team effort from players, coaching staff, and the fans. First title for Umm Salal SC in 14 years and second title at the professional level. Thanks be to God.”
Umm Salal finished sixth in the Qatar Stars League with 25 points from their 22 games, 27 points behind winners Al Saad that finished the season unbeaten with 20 wins and two draws for 62 points from their 22 games.
Coley joined Umm Salal as an assistant coach in November of 2021.
