Pakistan Women A and West Indies Women A are set to play the final of the T20 tri-series on 8 November at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. The match will be live-streamed on PCB’s YouTube Channel.

Leading up to the final, the tri-series saw three matches played at the same venue. The three participating teams – Pakistan Women A, West Indies Women A and Thailand Women Emerging – played two matches each.

The hosts won both their games, whereas West Indies Women A defeated Thailand Women Emerging, with the latter losing both their matches.

Pakistan opener Shawaal Zulfiqar has been leading the batting charts having scored an unbeaten half-century (67 not out, 66b, 10x4s) against Thailand Women Emerging in the third match of the series.

Sidra Nawaz also scored an undefeated half-century (54 not out, 40b, 7x4s), which came against West Indies Women A in the first match.

In their two games, West Indies off spinner Sheneta Grimmond has taken three wickets at an average of 4.33.

Fast bowlers Jannilea Glasgow, Qiana Joseph and Jahzara Claxton have accounted for three wickets each as well. Pakistan skipper Rameen Shamim, fellow off spin bowler Omaima Sohail and pacer Humna Bilal have also claimed three wickets in two games.

Rameen Shamim, Pakistan Women A captain, while speaking to PCB Digital said: “We have two consecutive wins under our belt in this T20 tri-series and are banking on the wave of momentum. The girls are really confident and we back ourselves completely to win the final as well.”

West Indies Women A captain Rashada Williams stated: “Even though we lost to Pakistan earlier in the series, it was a close encounter and we'll be confident to turn it around this time. With the win against Thailand Emerging, we are now looking to capitalize on the winning momentum and clinch the trophy.”

West Indies “A” Women defeated Thailand Women Emerging by five wickets in the second match of the T20 tri-series, played at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on Saturday.

In the low-scoring game, West Indies Women A were brilliant with the ball, dismissing Thailand Emerging for just 46 in 14.2 overs after winning the toss. West Indies then got over the line in 13 overs, with five wickets to spare.

Qiana Joseph (11, 17b, 1x4), Shabika Gajnabi (10, 26b) and Trishan Holder (10, 13b, 1x4) chipped in with small contributions, which was enough to award West Indies victory. Thailand Emerging attempted to derail the chase by taking wickets in quick succession with Thipatcha Putthawong taking two wickets, while Phannita Maya, Sunida Chaturongrattana and Onnicha Kamchomphu getting a wicket each.

Earlier, all of the West Indies bowlers found success; left-arm spinner Qiana Joseph and right-arm pacer Jannillea Glasgow picked up three wickets each. Right-arm pacer Jahzara Claxton bagged two wickets, while off-spinner Sheneta Grimmond and fast bowler Cherry-Ann Fraser got a wicket apiece to their names.

Chaturongrattana was the only batter on the Thailand scorecard that got to double digits. She hit 12 from 26 balls, including one boundary.

Thailand Women Emerging play Pakistan Women A in the third match of the T20 tri-series on November 5.

West Indies “A” Women opened their T20I Tri-Series against Pakistan “A” Women and the Thailand Emerging Team with a 12-run loss to hosts Pakistan at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Friday.

The West Indians first restricted the hosts to 112-5 from their 20 overs after winning the toss and bowling first.

Sidra Nawaz hit an unbeaten 54* while Omaima Sohail (27) and Eyman Fatima (10) were the only other Pakistan batters to get to double figures.

Sheneta Grimmond took 2-11 from her four overs for the West Indies.

The West Indian chase then got off to the worst possible start with Qiana Joseph being dismissed off the very first ball and they never recovered.

Captain Rashada Williams top scored with 21 while Cherry-Ann Fraser made 18 and Djenaba Joseph 15 as the West Indies were bowled out for 100 off their 20 overs.

Hunma Bilal led the way for the hosts with 3-17 from three overs while Sohail chipped in with 2-15 from three overs as well.

Rashada Williams scored a match-high 71 to lead the West Indies Women ‘A’ to a three-wicket victory over Pakistan in Lahore on Thursday. Chasing 189 for victory after Pakistan Women ‘A’ had scored 188-9 from their 50 overs, West Indies Women achieved the target with a ball to spare.

The tourists won the toss and put the hosts into bat. Pakistan achieved their score on the back of 50 by Sidra Nawaz and scores of 32 and 25 by Shawaal Zulfiqar and Eyman Fatima, respectively.

Ashmini Munisar’s off-spin proved instrumental for the West Indies taking 3-21 from her 10-over allotment with Qiana Joseph proving a worthwhile back-up with 2-30.

Williams got her 71 from 94 balls for the West Indies with Shabika Gajnabi scoring 25 and Zaida James weighing in with a patient 23 from 57 balls to help steer the tourists to victory and levelling the series at a game apiece.

Left-arm spin bowler Anosha Nasir took 3-36 in a valiant effort for Pakistan.

Chris Gayle, Chadwick Walton and Sherfane Rutherford and Carlos Brathwaite were the four West Indies players selected to play in the Pakistan Super League following the 2021 Draft held in Lahore on Sunday.

Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo and Carlos Brathwaite are among several West Indies players who have made themselves available for the Pakistan Super League draft set for January 10, 2021, in Lahore.

Evin Lewis and Lendl Simmons were also the players whose names were released on Tuesday by the PSL. They are among 25 international players who will be available for the six-team competition even though some of them will only be available for a part of the season due to a packed international calendar during the February to March window.

Gayle has played previously in the PSL for the Karachi Kings and the Lahore Qalanders.

Other notable players who are in the draft pool include Imran Tahir, Chris Jordan, Chris Lyn, Mohammed Nabi, Alex Hales and Morne Morkel.

The 25 foreign players have been placed in the 'Platinum' category, from which the six franchises will select.
