Sara Misir delivered a solid showing to claim a P1 and P2 finishes in the Modified Production 4 Class at the Dover Raceway in St. Ann on Heroes' Monday, October 16.

Misir started strong with the second-fastest lap in qualifying in the biggest meet of the year and the last on the JRDC 2023 calendar.

In the opening race, she claimed a fine victory, overtaking the Modified Production 2 class champion, Nicholas "Tazz" Barnes, who was the fastest in qualifying. Misir recorded the quickest lap of the day by any driver, 1.25.84 seconds, on her second lap.

Torrential rain played a factor in her second race, where Misir registered a DNF as her windscreen fogged up causing her to lose track visibility.

However, she recovered to do well in Race Three. Starting at the back, Misir worked her way through the field into second place behind Jody Gibson, who won the race in a four-wheel-drive Evolution.

"We did well in securing that second place given that we have a rear-wheel drive car, which does not perform as well in rainy conditions," explained Sara’s father and coach Rugie.

For Sara, this was the perfect end to her season.

"After dominating the MP2 class in 2022 and ending on maximum points, I took on the bigger challenge of the MP4 class for 2023. It has been a rough local season where we had engine issues at a few of the earlier meets, but as they say, the race is not always for the fastest, but who prevails to the end, so I'm happy to end with a victory in the MP4 class. The bonus, of course, is recording the fastest lap of the day; I couldn't ask for more from my car, my supporters and my team," she said.

On October 6, Misir competed in the GT Cup final in the United Kingdom, finishing seventh in class at Snetterton alongside teammate Alana Carter. She's making preparations for the Caribbean Clash of Champions in Guyana on November 4.

Jamaican Formula Woman Driver Sara Misir will be in action on September 16 and 17 in the United Kingdom.

Misir and teammate Alana Carter will take to the grid on Saturday and Sunday at the Donnington Race Track in round eight of the GT Cup Championships.

Misir and Carter will race in the Lotus Emira GT4, making their 2023 debut on the European circuit.

"I'm back in the GT4 seat, and the Lotus is new to the GT Cup circuit, but it has been amazing so far in testing, so I can't wait to get on the track this weekend. There's a bit of rust as it's my first race in the UK for 2023, but I'm looking forward to a good showing, in my Jamaica colours," said Misir.

The GT Cup series then heads to Snetterton for October 6 and 7.

Jamaica’s UK-based Formula Woman driver, Sara Misir, is set to compete on Saturday, July 9 as the GT Cup Championship heads to Oulton Park in Cheshire, England.

Twenty-seven cars across four groups will join the grid for rounds 13 and 14.

 Misir will compete in car number 65, alongside English teammate Steph Sore in a McLaren 570s GT4. The pair crossed the finish line in 7th and 9th place, respectively, in rounds 11 and 12 at the Snetterton Circuit on June 11 and 12.

“The first race day was about getting accustomed to competing on the circuit as a team," Misir said. "We started slowly but gained momentum as the races progressed. For Oulton Park, it’s the toughest circuit for both car and driver but I’m confident we’ll rise to this new challenge.”

Misir last competed at the “Clash of the Titans” JRDC meet at the Dover Raceway in St. Ann on July 3, where she dominated with three wins from three races in the Modified Production Class III.

The Oulton Park leg marks the fourth weekend of the 2022 GT Cup season.

Sara Misir, the Caribbean’s first Formula Woman finalist, earned herself a top-four spot and has made the Formula Woman team that will compete for McLaren in the GT Cup Championships for 2022.
