The Caribbean's only Formula Woman race car driver Sara Misir received a significant boost ahead of her 2024 season by securing an endorsement deal with Red Stripe, under the company's Drink & Live Responsibly and Heineken 0.0 brands.

As part of the multi-million dollar sponsorship, Misir, who participated in the GT Cup in the United Kingdom for the 2022 and 2023 seasons, will be highlighted in the Drink and Live Responsibly campaign through various digital and traditional media channels, as well as making appearances on behalf of Heineken 0.0.

The announcement was made on Tuesday at Red Stripe’s headquarters on Spanish Town Road in Kingston.

The duality of this partnership aims to reinforce the message of responsible drinking with Sara’s help, highlighting that when it comes to selecting a designated driver on a night out, 'The Best Driver' to choose is always the one that hasn't had a drink – unless that drink is Heineken® 0.0,” declared Red Stripe’s head of corporate affairs, Dianne Ashton-Smith.

“Sara, who brings her star power to help promote responsible drinking to new and relevant audiences, can effectively convey this message to our consumers, driving home the importance of making responsible choices. This is particularly significant as Sara is breaking barriers in a traditionally male-dominated sport, exemplifying the power of inclusion and becoming a beacon of inspiration. What a remarkable way to kick off International Women's Day this week, themed “Inspire Inclusion.”

Misir views this partnership as a perfect synergy. “Cheers to Heineken and the "Drink and Live Responsibly" initiative. I’m pleased to drive home, pun intended, the importance of road safety. The motorsports athlete of the year will start her 2024 season on April 1 at JRDC’s Carnival of Speed at Dover Raceway in St. Ann. She is also slated to compete on May 26, July 7, August 4 and October 21 to complete her 2024 Modified Production Class Four racing calendar.

United-Kingdom-based Formula Woman Driver Sara Misir has been signed as NCB Capital Market's newest brand ambassador.

Misir, 24, is Jamaica's first and only Formula Woman driver, after successfully earning a seat in the GT Cup Championships by winning the Formula Woman qualifying competition in March from a field of over 10,000 applicants.

"It's official. I'm NCB's newest Brand Ambassador!" Misir posted on Instagram Thursday.

"I'd like to thank NCB Capital Markets for choosing me to represent such an iconic brand with such a long history in Jamaica. As I pursue my passions and continue to race towards my dreams, I'm happy to be on the journey with NCB Capital Markets,”

NCB Capital Markets expressed delight about having Sara on board in a statement.
"Sara has made an indelible mark in the world of motorsport, becoming the first Caribbean Formula Woman driver. Together we will go further, go faster, chart new roads and shatter expectations".

Sara Misir, the Caribbean’s first Formula Woman finalist bagged herself a golden ticket to compete on Friday as one of 15 finalists of Formula Woman after her team stormed to victory in the endurance race on Thursday.

Misir participated as a member of a four-woman team that completed an endurance test for 100 minutes at the PF International Kart Circuit on Thursday and recorded the second-fastest time of the day from a pool of about 75 drivers.

“I am overwhelmed with excitement at my performance today and I’m happy my team won,” she said afterwards.

“We started in 14th position and then shot to first within the first 10 laps and managed to hold on until the end. I look forward to competing on Friday for a spot in the top 10.”

Misir was selected to participate in the Formula Woman final from a field of almost 10,000 applicants. The top four and two reserve drivers will join the McLaren GT4 team in the 2022 GT Cup British Championships.

The 15 finalists will be whittled down to 10 when they compete again on Friday, March 4 at the Croft Circuit with the final race day for the top four slated for March 9. The Formula Woman finalists are tested in the areas of speed, mental performance, fitness and technical knowledge related to motorsport.

“It has been challenging for me because the weather conditions have not been ideal,” she said.

“It was quite cold and wet yesterday which takes a bit of getting used to. I’m feeling confident, and so far this has been an invaluable experience.”
