Jamaican race car driver Tommi Gore is gearing up for his second season in the ADAC GT4 Germany Championships, and this time, he has his eyes firmly set on the ultimate prize—winning the championship.

After a promising debut in 2024, Gore returns to the track with renewed focus, a new teammate, and the determination to top last year’s performances.

The talented driver, who turns 20 on Saturday, will share the cockpit of the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS CS with Israeli driver Alon Gabbay under the banner of reigning team champions W&S Motorsport when the season roars to life on April 26.

Looking back on his debut season, Gore is proud of what he achieved, and is ready to take on the challenge to come, especially considering the steep learning curve he faced.

“It’s truly amazing how far we came from the little island of Jamaica—never driven on any of these tracks before, never driven the Audi nor the Porsche before—and still, after changing teams mid-season, Senna [Summerbell] and I were fighting at the front of the grid against some of the best GT drivers in Europe,” Gore told SportsMax.Tv.

“This grid was full of drivers who were past go-kart and car racing champions, and to think that with minimal experience and local training, I was on par with them was very impressive. I’m looking forward to developing further as a driver as I continue to gain experience and perform well in Europe,” he added.

The switch from SAPE Motorsport, to W&S Motorsport mid-season proved to be a turning point, as the team’s expertise propelled Gore and his former teammate, Senna Summerbell, into contention with some of Europe’s finest.

“Daniel Schellhaas took us in and taught us more about the sport, but also with the idea that this was an extremely cool project that he saw potential in. Little did he know that we would finish on the podium at the final event of the year in Hockenheim,” Gore said, as he recalled the unforgettable moment.

While there were challenges along the way, Gore sees them as learning experiences. In fact, he pointed out that the early struggles with SAPE Motorsport gave him insight into the importance of preparation.

“They did not know what they were up against in this championship, nor did we, running in the middle to the rear end of the field in the first two rounds. A bit more research and preparation beforehand would have helped us quite a bit, but in the same regard, if we did not go down that road, we would definitely not be in the places we are today, so everything inherently happens for a reason,” he said.

Still, a strong finish to the season, where Gore was consistently among the top three fastest Porsches on track, gives him confidence for the season ahead.

“That is something I plan to maintain and build on as we go into 2025 to fight for the championship. The content that we were able to produce from these events and upload to Instagram and YouTube was exceptional, and the support from fans all around the world was incredible. For this year, I will be focusing on how to build on both my performance on track and how to create better content for my supporters off track,” Gore declared.

That said, the jovial driver explained that he has taken his preparation to another level in pursuit of championship honours.

“I am probably the healthiest and fittest I have ever been. Being consistent in the gym and working on myself has made a difference not only in my racing but in my personal life, so I aim to continue these habits. I have also invested in a racing simulator, which I will be using to test and learn new tracks before the events. This will also aid in my performance as a driver, as I will be visiting two more new tracks in Germany this year. The simulator really helps to familiarize myself with the tracks and their general characteristics; it’s not 100% accurate, but it gets you 80–90% of the way there,” Gore shared.

The redesigned Porsche 718 Gore will share with Gabbay.

Though it will be Gore’s first time sharing a car with Gabbay, the Israeli driver is no stranger to him. With that familiarity, Gore is optimistic about their chances, as he is determined to accomplish both personal and team goals.

“I raced against him last year, and we worked together within the same team. He’s also quite fast, so I’m looking forward to partnering with Alon, and we should be a good pairing to fight at the front,” Gore noted.

“The target is to win the championship. Obviously, this depends on numerous factors, some of which are out of my control. But personally, I want to be the best driver I can and make the most of the year to help progress my racing career to even higher heights,” he ended.
