Motie, Permaul combine for seven second innings wickets as Harpy Eagles complete 214-run win over Scorpions at Sabina Park

Left-arm spin twins Gudakesh Motie and Veerasammy Permaul starred to lead the Guyana Harpy Eagles to a 214-run win over the Jamaica Scorpions on day four of their fourth-round West Indies Championship clash at Sabina Park on Saturday.

The Scorpions, who entered the day 179-3 in 48 overs, were able to fend off the Guyanese bowling through to lunch but were bowled out soon into the day’s second session for 274 in 85 overs.

Kirk McKenzie, who started the day 104*, made it to 147 before falling off the bowling of Permaul in the 82nd over.

Brad Barnes also chipped in with a fighting 25 off 75 balls.

Motie finished with figures of 4-69 off 25 overs while Permaul took 3-50 from 17 overs.

Ronaldo Alimohamed also picked up 3-52 off 12 overs to finish with match figures of 9-69.

The Harpy Eagles will next host the Windward Islands Volcanoes in round five while the Scorpions will travel to Antigua to face the West Indies Academy.
