Manchester City are plotting a move for Barcelona star midfielder Frenkie de Jong, according to Calciomercato.
De Jong, who also has interest from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, signed a five-year deal with Barcelona effective from July 2019, tying him down to 2024.
The 24-year-old Netherlands international has made 11 appearances in all competitions this season and is yet to score.

Harry Kane could reportedly leave Jose Mourinho's Tottenham at the end of the season.
And he could be playing for either Pep Guardiola or Ole Gunnar Solskjaer next term.

Manchester City want to rival Manchester United for the signature of Tottenham star Harry Kane, according to 90min.
Kane is reportedly considering his future at Tottenham and Premier League giants United have already been linked to the England striker.
Another Manchester club, City, are also interested in the 26-year-old front man.

- The Times says all football games in England will be played behind closed doors under government plans to combat coronavirus. The report claims the current season will not be postponed, instead matches in the Premier League and lower divisions are to be staged without fans.
- City are prepared to swap players with Inter. Calciomercato reports City are determined to sign Nerazzurri centre-back Milan Skriniar and are prepared to offer full-back Joao Cancelo, who previously played for Inter on loan.
- Liverpool are favourites to sign Timo Werner, however, Mundo Deportivo claims Barcelona could turn to the RB Leipzig striker if they miss out on Inter star Lautaro Martinez.
- Napoli would not reject bids for star defender Kalidou Koulibaly, reports Gazzetta dello Sport. Koulibaly has been linked to the likes of United, City, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
- The Daily Mail says Chelsea and Tottenham are eyeing Bournemouth goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
- Crystal Palaceare targeting Chelsea outcast Michy Batshuayi, according to The Sun. Batshuayi spent the second half of last season on loan at fellow London club Palace.
Pochettino was sacked by Tottenham in November, having led Spurs to the 2018-19 Champions League final.
Now, Manchester United and Manchester City are reportedly considering moves for Pochettino.
TOP STORY – POCH A MAN IN DEMAND IN MANCHESTER
Manchester United and neighbours Manchester City are both eyeing Mauricio Pochettino, according to the Mirror.
Pochettino has been out of work since his Tottenham sacking last year, and the former Spurs boss has emerged as the favourite to replace struggling United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
United vice-chairman Ed Woodward is reportedly ready to sack Solskjaer if results do not improve, while City are considering Pochettino, with Pep Guardiola yet to sign a contract extension.

- Sport claims Barcelona are already planning for the next transfer window. The LaLiga powerhouse are keen to sign two players, with City defender Eric Garcia and Lyon captain Memphis Depay at the top of the list. Barca are also looking to offload Ousmane Dembele who failed to join United on deadline day.
- Liverpool are in talks to sign Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland, claims the Mirror. It comes after Adrian struggles to deputise in the absence of injured number one Alisson.

- West Ham are trying to sign Brentford star Said Benrahma in a £17million deal, according to the Telegraph.
That came after a prolonged courtship from Real Madrid for his services, while several other top clubs were interested.
But Mbappe has again been linked with a move away from the French capital, despite re-committing only months ago.
TOP STORY – MBAPPE WANTS PSG EXIT, MAN UTD CIRCLING
Kylian Mbappe is reportedly pushing for an exit from PSG during the January transfer window, claims Sport.
According to the report, Manchester United are preparing an audacious bid to land the 23-year-old France forward, with Liverpool and Real Madrid also in contention.
Mbappe wants PSG to let him go if a reasonable offer comes in during January, although United may not suit his football aspirations in the short term.

- Tottenham are keeping a close watch on Everton winger Anthony Gordon ahead of the January transfer window, reports Football London. Gordon, who also has interest from Chelsea, still has three years left on his Toffees deal.
- Chelsea's strategy with Romelu Lukaku is set to change, meaning he is unlikely to remain with Inter, claims Calciomercato. The Blues want to sell him for a major transfer fee at the end of this season, rather than loaning him back to Inter, as the Nerazzurri had hoped.

Chiesa, 22, has been heavily linked with a move away from the Serie A club, where he came through the youth system.

TOP STORY – MAN UTD GETTING CLOSER TO CHIESA
Manchester United are pushing for Chiesa and their latest offer could be enough to start proper negotiations, according to La Nazione.
Chiesa has also been linked with Juventus and Inter with his contract in Florence running until 2022.
A 17-time Italy international, Chiesa has scored seven goals and provided three assists in 26 games this season.

- Joao Felix has yet to hit top form at Atletico Madrid. Goal reports the LaLiga club turned down a £135million (€150m) offer from a Premier League side earlier this season.
- Chelseacould yet strengthen further. The Daily Express says they are in talks to sign Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell, who is said to be valued at £80m. Chelsea will have Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner arrive at the club ahead of next season.
- David Luiz's future at Arsenal remains uncertain following his horror show against Manchester City on Wednesday. According to the Daily Mail, the Brazilian defender wants a two-year deal, rather than the one being offered. Luiz is coming out of contract at the end of the month.
- Could Edin Dzeko's time at Roma be coming to an end? Corriere dello Sport reports Roma need to qualify for the Champions League to keep the striker at the club. Dzeko is contracted until 2022, while Roma are three points behind fourth-placed Atalanta in Serie A.
- Morgan Schneiderlin is set to return to France. RMC Sport says the midfielder will leave Everton to join Nice, returning to Ligue 1 for the first time since 2008.
- Staying at Goodison Park and Everton have joined the race for Real Valladolid defender Mohammed Salisu, according to the Mirror.
Dembele was told he could leave Barca in January after refusing to sign a new contract.
However, no clubs came in for the former Borussia Dortmund attacker, who will instead see out the remaining months of his deal at Camp Nou and looks set to leave on a free.
TOP STORY – UNITED ARE DEMBELE'S ONLY SUITORS
According to Spanish newspaper Sport, Dembele's options for when he leaves Barca are limited. In fact, the report claims that United are now the only team interested in the France international.
Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea were among the clubs reported to hold an interest in the 24-year-old previously.
However, according to Sport's report, United are in a queue of one as it stands.
