Brajan Gruda has left Mainz for Brighton and Hove Albion in a reported £25.8million (€30m) deal.

The Germany Under-21 international established himself as a key man for Mainz last season, scoring four goals and assisting three more in 28 Bundesliga appearances.

As well as contributing in the final third, Gruda thrilled supporters with his dribbling style.

Indeed, his 76 carries with a take-on ranked third in the Bundesliga in 2023-24, behind only Leroy Sane (94) and Chris Fuhrich (83).

The 20-year-old earned admiring glances from around Europe, but it is Brighton who have moved to sign him on a contract until 2028.

Gruda becomes Brighton's second big right-sided winger signing of this transfer window, with the Seagulls having also bought Yankuba Minteh from Newcastle United.

Minteh, who has shone for Brighton in pre-season, spent last season on loan at Feyenoord and scored 10 Eredivisie goals across 27 matches, also netting once in the Champions League.

Thomas Frank remains confident that Ivan Toney will remain a Brentford player when the transfer window shuts next month. 

Toney, who has scored 72 goals in 141 appearances for the Bees, has been linked with a move away from the club as he enters the final year of his contract. 

The England international has made it clear that he wants to play for one of the top clubs in the Premier League, but a move thus far has failed to materialise. 

Toney was linked with a move to Tottenham, who have since signed Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth, while Arsenal have also registered their interest. 

But Frank, who is preparing for his sixth season in charge of Brentford, expects to have the club's all-time top scorer within his ranks for the 2024-25 campaign. 

"There has been a lot of talk about Ivan for many years, but let's just say over the last six months about whether he will leave this summer," Frank told Sky Sports. 

"So far, he is still a Brentford player, so I think we are getting closer and closer to him remaining a Brentford player. 

"I am getting more and more excited because he is a top player and I love working with Ivan - we have a fantastic relationship. 

"That is what I think, he will be a Brentford player after the first of September."

Should Toney remain at the Gtech Community Stadium, it provides Frank with a solid foundation to build on their 16th placed finish last season. 

Despite Toney missing much of the season after serving an eight-month ban for breaking the FA's betting rules, the Bees scored 56 league goals, ranking 11th in the league.

With the addition of Liverpool's Fabio Carvalho alongside Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa, Frank will be confident of improving that tally with Toney in his side. 

Carlo Ancelotti has insisted that rumours linking Real Madrid's Vinicius Junior with a move to Saudi Arabia are nothing more than "just speculation". 

Vinicius, who scored 24 goals in all competitions for Real last season, has received interest from the Saudi Pro League, reportedly considering the proposal. 

The Brazilian is currently preparing for Los Blancos' UEFA Super Cup clash against Atalanta on Wednesday, with Ancelotti quick to dismiss reports of a departure. 

"There isn't anything at all," Ancelotti said on Tuesday. "There's just speculation, at this time in the market. There's just speculation, nothing else."

Vinicius helped Real claim a domestic double last year, winning his third La Liga title and scoring in their Champions League final win over Borussia Dortmund. 

The 24-year-old has the chance to win a 13th major honour in his sixth year as a Madrid player on Wednesday, with Ancelotti expecting him to be on top form in Warsaw.

"Of course speculation doesn't affect [Vinicius]," Ancelotti continued. "He's here, he wants to be here. He wants to do his best and help Real Madrid."

Ancelotti also shrugged off suggestions that Madrid's sporting project was under threat from Saudi Arabia's growing investment in the sport. 

The likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Neymar have all made the move to the Middle East over the past two years, with many other high-profile names following suit. 

"No, absolutely not," Ancelotti said. "We have our project and we continue in that. We have a squad of great quality.

"We've lost important players and we've brought in others who have to adapt.

"We have to work to maintain the atmosphere, and the commitment, which was the key last year."

Manchester United have bolstered their defence with the arrival of Matthijs De Ligt from Bayern Munich, the club confirmed on Tuesday. 

The defender is reunited with former manager Erik ten Hag, signing a five-year contract with the Red Devils in a deal reportedly worth around £42million.

De Ligt made 73 appearances in all competitions in two years at the Bundesliga giants, scoring five goals in that time.

He finished the season strongly, but struggled with injuries at the start, with his absence keenly felt in the league as Bayern conceded an average of 1.8 goals without him in the starting line-up compared to 1.1 with him.

De Ligt was a key figure at Ajax during Ten Hag's tenure and was made the youngest-ever captain in the club's history during that time.

The defender posted an emotional letter to Bayern supporters on social media after ending his stay with the Bundesliga side. 

It read: "Dear Bayern fans, I want to thank each and every one of you for all your love and support. I have spent two amazing years playing for this beautiful club.

RB Leipzig have confirmed the capture of 19-year-old attacker Antonio Nusa from Jupiler Pro League side Club Brugge. 

Nusa, who was of interest to several Premier League sides in the January transfer window, has signed a five-year deal with the Bundesliga outfit. 

The Norwegian made 46 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring four goals and helping the Blauw-Zwart to a 19th league title. 

He takes the number seven shirt vacated by Dani Olmo following his reported £51m transfer to Barcelona after his impressive showings at Euro 2024. 

Nusa is the second signing made by Die Roten Bullen from the Belgian top flight, with goalkeeper Maarten Vandevoordt arriving from Genk earlier in the window. 

"I'm just incredibly proud to be at RB Leipzig and in the Bundesliga now. The club showed me a clear vision and a clear path, which totally convinced me," Nusa said.

"It's a big step for me, of course – but I'm ready for it. RB Leipzig has developed into one of the top clubs in Europe and is above all one of the top addresses for young players.

"It's just an outstanding feeling to be able to play there in front of over 45,000 fans in a few days."

Julian Araujo has completed a permanent transfer to Bournemouth from Barcelona, the Cherries confirmed on Tuesday.

Araujo, who spent last season on loan with La Liga side Las Palmas, arrives at the Vitality Stadium on a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee. 

The 23-year-old failed to make a senior appearance for Barcelona after joining from La Galaxy last year, despite having made 98 MLS appearances. 

Araujo has also been capped 13 times by Mexico since his debut in 2021, but missed their group stage exit at this year's Copa America with a hamstring problem.  

He missed 13 games during the league season through injury or suspension, with his impact on the Las Palmas squad felt in his absence. 

The Spanish side managed to win just three games when Araujo was not in the side, while also scoring more goals (18) when he was in the right-back position. 

Araujo will also offer Andoni Iraola another attacking full-back option alongside Max Aarons, with his 11 successful crosses only bettered by Sergi Cardona (16) and Sandro Ramirez (24) in the Las Palmas side last season. 

Chief Executive Neill Blake said of the transfer: “Julian is someone who we have tracked for a while now and we’re delighted to bring him to AFC Bournemouth.

“He’s a young player with high potential and we’re pleased to have beaten lots of competition for his signature.

He becomes the Cherries' fifth senior summer signing and follows Dean Huijsen, Luis Sinisterra, Enes Unal and Alex Paulsen to the south coast.

Hugo Bueno has completed a season-long loan move to Feyenoord from Wolves, the Premier League club confirmed on Tuesday. 

Bueno, who made 21 league appearances under Gary O'Neil last campaign, will link up with the Dutch side who drew in their first league game with Willem II on Saturday.

The 21-year-old managed just 830 minutes from his 25 outings in all competitions last year, with Rayan Ait-Nouri or Matt Doherty often preferred at left-back. 

Bueno has the opportunity to test himself among Europe's elite, with Feyenoord competing in the Champions League this season after finishing second in Arne Slot's final season at the club.

Wolves' sporting director Matt Hobbs was quick to reassure supporters that the Spaniard's switch would not leave O'Neil short in terms of defensive cover. 

“Some people might think we’re leaving ourselves short, but we’ve got a number of players who can cover in that area of the pitch," Hobbs said. 

"It’s really important for us and Hugo that he goes and plays.”

Alessandro Costacurta backed Nicolo Zaniolo to shine at Atalanta and believes his re-emergence this season could prove crucial for the future of the national side.

Zaniolo, who spent last season on loan with Aston Villa, has returned to Italy to join the Europa League champions, with an obligation to make his move permanent from Galatasaray. 

The 25-year-old made 40 appearances under Unai Emery last year, but only 13 came from the start, managing just 830 minutes of action in the Premier League. 

Zaniolo's most impressive display came during Villa's 2-0 league triumph over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, operating on the left-hand side of midfield. 

Former Milan boss Costacurta is hopeful the 25 year-old will perform well for his new side this year, which will then translate to the international stage with the Azzurri. 

He told Tuttosport: “I support Zaniolo because he is an Italian guy who has returned home and because we need a talent who can lead the national team."

Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini was able to get the best out of Gianluca Scamacca after he endured an indifferent time in England with West Ham.

And Costacurta believes the 66-year-old could be pivotal for Zaniolo too, as the Italian aims to rediscover the form he found during his five-year stint with Roma. 

“Zaniolo is an intriguing pick for Gasperini," Costacurta said.

"If he’s able to revamp Zaniolo’s career as he did with Scamacca, he will deserve the Coach of the Century award.”

Atalanta play Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup on August 14 before beginning their Serie A campaign away to Torino on August 25.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has joined West Ham United on a seven-year contract for a reported fee of £15million from Manchester United.

The 26-year-old spent five seasons at the club after joining for £50million in 2019, making 190 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils.

The English defender, who was born in London, returns to the capital having started his career in the south of the city with Crystal Palace.

Now in east London as West Ham's seventh signing of the transfer window, Wan-Bissaka is looking forward to his time in claret and blue.

"It was a no-brainer for me to join West Ham - I'm excited and happy to be here. It’s an amazing feeling to be back in London," Wan-Bissaka told the West Ham website.

“I was born here, so I know the ins and outs of London, which plays a big part in my life, so to be back playing in this city means a lot to me.”

Wan-Bissaka further strengthens Julen Lopetegui's defensive options after a season in which only Sheffield United (104), Luton Town (85) and Burnley (78) conceded more than West Ham's 74 last campaign. 

The defender won 25 of his 42 tackles, a total only bettered by Kobbie Mainoo (27), Bruno Fernandes (38), Diogo Dalot (51) and Casemiro (56) for Erik ten Hag's side. 

Now, Wan-Bissaka hopes to bring his defensive prowess to the Hammers, who will hope to improve on last season’s ninth-placed finish under new manager Lopetegui.

"I can't wait to get on the pitch, get to know the players, and push on from there,” he said.

"I see a team that is in it together, that will push each other to win, and a group that has got each others' backs through thick and thin.

“Being part of that and having that insurance helps a lot when you are surrounded by a good squad."

Fiorentina have confirmed the signing of Morocco international midfielder Amir Richardson from Reims.

The 22-year-old's arrival at Stadio Artemio Franchi comes on the back of helping his nation to a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics in the men's football tournament.

Both clubs announced the transfer on their official websites on Monday.

Richardson appeared 28 times for Reims in his only season at the club last time out and scored three times.

Former Le Havre player Richardson, who was also linked with a Premier League move, has earned seven caps for Morocco at senior level.

He will be unveiled by Fiorentina at a press conference on Tuesday.

David de Gea has secured a way back into football after it was confirmed the former Spain international had completed a move to Fiorentina on Friday.

De Gea, who has been without a club since leaving Manchester United last year, has signed a one-year contract with the Serie A side with an option of another 12 months. 

The Spaniard had been offered a contract extension to continue at Old Trafford, but chose to end his 12-year stay with the Red Devils. 

De Gea made 545 appearances in all competitions for United following his move from Atletico Madrid in 2011, keeping 190 clean sheets, 148 of which came in the Premier League.

The 33-year-old won eight major honours under eight different managers at Old Trafford, winning the division's Golden Glove on two occasions. 

His last competitive appearance came in United's 2-1 defeat to rivals Manchester City in the FA Cup last year. 

Fiorentina finished eighth in Serie A last campaign, with Raffaele Palladino aiming to improve their defence, having managed just seven clean sheets in their 38 league games. 

Conor Gallagher has arrived in Madrid to complete his reported £33.7million move to Atletico Madrid from Chelsea. 

Gallagher, who captained Chelsea to European football last season under Mauricio Pochettino, is set to sign a five-year deal with the eight-time La Liga champions. 

The England international will be the club's third major signing following the captures of Real Sociedad's Robin Le Normand and Villarreal's Alexander Sorloth. 

Gallagher will become only the second Englishman to play for Atleti after Kieran Trippier, who won the league under Diego Simeone during the 2020-21 season. 

The 24-year-old made 95 appearances for Chelsea, 50 of which came last season, scoring 10 goals and adding 10 assists in that time. 

Chelsea are set to take their spending beyond the £150million mark, with Atletico's Samu Omorodion expected to join Enzo Maresca's side in the coming days. 

The Blues have also reportedly agreed a £54million deal for Wolves' Pedro Neto, with those two potential signings adding to the eight new faces at Stamford Bridge. 

Andoni Iraola has confirmed that Bournemouth have held talks with Tottenham over a move for Dominic Solanke.

Ange Postecoglou has made it clear that he wants to sign a striker this transfer window, having failed to find a replacement after Harry Kane's departure last year, with Solanke their main target.

Reports now suggest that the two clubs have come to an agreement, with Spurs willing to meet his £65million release clause.

Solanke played in every game for Bournemouth last season, only failing to start in one, while he netted a club-record 19 goals in the Premier League from 38 shots on target.

Earlier on Friday, Iraola confirmed the talks between the clubs were ongoing, and highlighted just how big a miss Solanke will be to the squad, not only due to his goals.

"I know that talks are ongoing," Iraola said in a press conference. "I cannot tell you much more, obviously. For us, Dom is a very, very important player, but I cannot tell you how this is going to finish.

"Probably everybody focuses on the goals he scores. He scores a big portion of our goals, but he gives us much more than goals. He's very complete.

"I've said it a lot of times that he helps us in all the phases of the games. He will be a big miss, obviously.

"He's someone that has been very involved, he played all the games last season, he scored a lot of goals, but if this happens, it has happened in other positions.

"We have to trust the people inside the club, and I am sure they will be ready."

Dani Olmo has become Barcelona's second signing of the transfer window after his reported £47million switch from RB Leipzig was confirmed on Friday. 

Olmo, who starred at Euro 2024 in Spain's record fourth success in the competition, has signed a six-year deal with a release clause of €500m (£428.5million). 

The Spaniard brings an end to his time with RB Leipzig, leaving the club having scored 29 goals and adding 34 assists across 148 appearances in all competitions. 

Olmo created 32 chances in his 21 Bundesliga outings last year, a total bettered only by Lois Openda (35), Benjamin Henrichs (40), David Raum (68) and Xavi Simons (79) in the Leipzig squad. 

During the European Championships, Olmo became the first Spanish player to score in three successive games, despite only starting three of La Roja's seven games. 

His five goal involvements (three goals, two assists) was also the most by a Spaniard at a major tournament since David Silva at Euro 2012 (two goals, three assists). 

Olmo is Hansi Flick's second signing since becoming Barca's new head coach following the arrival of Pau Victor from Girona for a reported €3m fee. 

The 27-time La Liga champions start their league campaign on August 17 away to Valencia.
