
Two Jamaicans, two Trinidadians, two Barbadians and an Antiguan are among the women to advance to the round of 16 in the women’s category at the ongoing Caribbean Regional Table Tennis Championships in Barbados.
Jamaica’s Gianna Lewis and Solesha Young, Trinidad & Tobago’s Chloe Fraser and Rheann Chung, Barbados’ Krystle Harvey and Kenady King and Antigua & Barbuda’s Stuti Kashyap all made it through the group phase successfully.
Lewis and Young made it through their respective groups with 1-1 records and will take on Cuba’s Karla Perez Gonzalez Puerto Rico’s Kristal Melendez on Saturday evening for places in the last eight.
T&T’s Fraser and Chung had records of 3-0 and 2-1, respectively, in the group phase and will take on Antigua’s Kashyap and Cuba’s Estella Crespo in the last 16.
Barbados’ King and Harvey finished their group phases with identical 1-1 records as well and will take on Puerto Rico’s Brianna Burgos and Cuba’s Daniela Fonseca.
