Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling has reportedly verbally agreed to a new five-year contract with the club that will pay him an estimated £300,000-per-week.

This represents a significant jump in wages up from the £180,000 he currently earns.

It also a breakthrough for the Jamaican-born player who earlier this year was reportedly at loggerheads with the club over a new deal.

Major dailies in the United Kingdom, as well as Skysports negotiations, have been ongoing for months but Sterling is said to have accepted the fresh terms, with the contract expected to be formally signed and announced in the coming weeks.

Sterling’s current contract was due to expire in 2020 but has maintained that he wanted to remain with Manchester City who won the Premier League title last season with a record 100 points.

Since the start of last season, Sterling has been one of Manchester City’s best players having had a hand in more than 30 goals for the Citizens.
