Continuity key for Trinbago Knight Riders insists Bravo

Dwayne Bravo. Dwayne Bravo.

Trinbago Knight Riders captain Dwayne Bravo pointed to a sense of continuity as a major advantage after registering a crushing win over the St Lucia Stars in their Caribbean Premier League (CPL) opener on Wednesday night.

Bravo claimed figures of 3 for 11 as the Knight Riders dismissed the Stars for 95.  Earlier Colin Munro had cracked an enterprising 68 from 48 balls as the St Lucia-based team made a formidable 195 for 6.

Having captured the title at the same venue, Queen’s Park Oval, last seasons it seemed as if the Trinidadian franchise hardly missed a beat as they put in a stunning all-round display.  Bravo believes the team has benefited from being able to call on chemistry having retained the core of its players.

“I think when you retain 90 percent of the squad it’s easy for us to turn up one year later and play the way that we played,” Bravo said in a post-match interview.

“I have to give credit to the entire team.  The first game we asked for us to set the tone for the entire tournament up against a good St Lucia team and the guys delivered tonight and I’m very happy,” he added.
