Jamaica and Manchester City striker Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw has claimed the 2024/25 Barclays Women’s Super League Golden Boot award.

Shaw scored an impressive 12 goals in 14 top-flight matches and has shared this term’s prize with Arsenal’s Alessia Russo who scored the same amount in 20 matches.

It means the 28-year-old boasted the best goals per game average across the division this season with 0.85 each match and, in doing so, has won the award in consecutive seasons following her remarkable 21goals in 18 appearances last term.

Shaw’s first league goal came in a hard fought 1-0 win over Brighton before she netted a dramatic double at Anfield as City came from behind to beat Liverpool away from home.

After equalizing following half-time, she slammed the ball into the roof of the net in second-half stoppage time to secure three vital points away from home.

During her time at the Club, she has continued to smash records and this season was no different when she set a new WSL record for most hat-tricks scored of all-time when scoring a treble in a 4-0 win over Spurs at the Etihad Stadium.

It represented her sixth in total in the division which extended her stellar record against the north Londoners.

She then hit five more in the top-flight before picking up an injury in our Subway League Cup final meeting with Chelsea which ended her season early.
