Unicomer/The Cable Village Galaxy secured their first win of the SKNFA Division 1 season in dramatic fashion, staging a thrilling comeback to defeat SKELEC Garden Hotspurs 2-1 on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Warner Park.

Trailing 1-0 for most of the match after Shaquille Adams’ 37th-minute goal, Village Galaxy refused to surrender. Their persistence paid off in the 81st minute when Davin Kelly found the equalizer. But the true magic came in stoppage time, as Kelly struck again in the fifth minute of added time, sealing a last-gasp victory for his team.

After the match, Village Galaxy manager Akin Phillip expressed confidence in his squad’s potential for the season.

“We were nine points down. We started off slow—two losses to Newtown, Dieppe Bay—but we had to get something out of this game,” Phillip said. “It’s about time we won a game. We’ve been losing since Premier (League). We scored goals tonight, and that has been our problem. We’ve got a lot more goals in store, a lot more wins in store. We’re going forward because we’ve got to catch up. Other teams have to watch out.”

Elsewhere, TGE Dieppe Bay Eagles cruised to a 6-0 victory over Conaree Fireball International at Warner Park on Tuesday night. Alphonso Murray was the star of the match, netting a hat-trick with goals in the 21st, 35th, and 36th minutes. Melrick Warner (75’), Nathaniel Huggins (78’), and Jason Phipps (88’ – penalty) added to the scoreline in a commanding performance.

Meanwhile, on Monday, March 10, MBT/Fast Cash Saddlers delivered a clinical 4-0 win over Rivers of Living Water. Kurt Mills opened the scoring in the 19th minute, before Sharmarh Phipps-Matthew (55’), Dequan Wattley (63’), and Istevian Barnes (67’) completed the rout.

The standout performance of the week came from Honda Newtown United, who annihilated KFC/Trinity Challengers United 11-0 in a one-sided affair.

Haim Isles led the onslaught with four goals (18', 28', 48', 58'), while Hazon Marshall added a hat-trick (45+1', 81', 90+1'). Tuluml Nisbett (2’), Kimron Browne (29’), Elandre Govia (85’), and Elvin Defraites (90’) also got on the scoresheet in a dominant display.

The week’s action kicked off on Sunday, March 9, with Trevor Fraites and Associates Molineux Pitbull thrashing 607 Construction Lodge Patriots 8-0.

Ronald Williams stole the show with four goals (13', 37', 38', 56'), while Quienieki Clarke added a hat-trick. Rondell Williams capped off the scoring in the 75th minute to complete an emphatic victory.
