President of the Bermuda Football Association (BFA), Mark Wade, has expressed pride in the successful staging of the recently-concluded Concacaf Train the Trainer Workshop at the Clyde Best Center of Excellence.

In collaboration with Concacaf, the BFA welcomed coach educators and football development leaders for a three-day program designed to build capacity within the region’s coaching education network.

"We are delighted to have hosted this important initiative in Bermuda. Together with Concacaf, we have led a dynamic workshop to empower our new coach educators. With this addition to our coach educator team, we take another step forward in coach education and improving the standard of coaching for our players," Wade said.

The workshop forms part of Concacaf’s broader Coaching Convention—a regulatory framework aimed at standardizing and elevating coach education standards across the confederation’s 41 Member Associations. It underscores Concacaf’s commitment to developing sustainable and impactful coaching structures through its One Concacaf initiative.

Led by Concacaf Coach Educator Developers, the workshop placed strong emphasis on the evolving role of coach educators—not only as knowledge-givers but also as facilitators, mentors, and evaluators. Participants engaged in adult learning theory, learner-centered methodologies, course assessment, and practical training delivery techniques.

Local coach educators Shequita Parson, Jake Littlejohn, Aaron Denkins, Kimmisha Perinchief, and Gary Adams took part in the intensive program, alongside Maurice Lowe, BFA’s Technical Development Director.

Parson, who also heads Coach Education for the BFA, described the experience as transformative.

"Being part of this coach educator course has opened my eyes to the delicate balance between teaching and facilitating. This journey is true educator leadership isn't about having all the answers, but about asking the right questions that inspire reflection and growth," Parsons said.

Concacaf’s Chief Football Development Officer, Jason Roberts, praised Bermuda’s leadership in hosting the event.

"Developing a network of skilled coach educators is central to achieving our long-term vision for coaching excellence in the region. The Train the Trainer initiative provides Member Associations with the capacity to deliver meaningful education that supports coach growth and ultimately benefits players at every level," Roberts noted.

This latest workshop is a strategic investment in regional technical development, reflecting Concacaf’s long-term mission to raise coaching standards by building strong learning communities and delivering consistent, high-quality education throughout its network.
