Warner Brown is a very happy player, and it is clear for all to see. Not only is he the Jamaica Premier League's leading scorer with 17 goals, but the 22-year-old has also earned another call-up to the senior Reggae Boyz squad, and he’s eager to make his mark in their Concacaf Gold Cup preliminary matches against St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
“It feels really, really good. I’m elated to get another call-up. This is a childhood dream come true—representing my country. I just hope to keep putting in the work and showcasing what I have on the international stage,” Brown shared.
Brown made his debut for Jamaica last month during a two-match friendly series against Trinidad and Tobago, an experience he cherished.
“It was a local camp, so I was around a lot of familiar faces, a lot of friends from other teams. It was a great experience,” he said.
The striker’s journey to the national stage has been shaped by experiences both at home and abroad. While at Tivoli Gardens FC, Brown went on loan for stints in the United States with Rochester New York FC and in Slovenia with clubs NS Mura and ND Beltinci. Those experiences, he says, were pivotal in his development.
“Going overseas and being away from your family teaches you a lot. You have to be mentally prepared and ready. Those experiences made me the individual I am now and prepared me to take on new challenges,” Brown declared.
Since returning to Jamaica, Brown has thrived with Arnett Gardens, and is now a key figure in the team’s attack.
“Arnett Gardens is a really good team—great atmosphere, great teammates. They welcomed me with open arms, so settling in was easy,” he noted.

Now, with two crucial games ahead, away to St Vincent and the Grenadines on Friday and Tuesday at the National Stadium, Brown is focused and ready to seize the moment, if called up on by head coach Steve McClaren.
A win across the two-leg tie would see the Reggae Boyz book a spot in the 18th edition of the Concacaf Gold Cup, which is set to take place this summer from June 14 to July 6.
“It’s another opportunity, and I’ve been working really hard for the past month to prepare myself. If I got the call, I wanted to be ready. I’m excited and looking forward to these games,” Brown ended.
