Arnett Gardens Football Club has appointed Philip Williams as the club’s new head coach. Williams boasts a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success at both the schoolboy and Premier League levels, positioning him as the ideal leader to guide the club into a new era.

Currently serving as head coach of St. Andrew Technical's Manning Cup team, Williams has been instrumental in shaping young talent and fostering strong team cultures at the school he has been teaching at since 2006. His deep commitment to youth development aligns perfectly with Arnett Gardens’ long-term vision of building a competitive team rooted in the growth and advancement of young players.

Over the course of his distinguished coaching career, Mr. Williams has led three top-flight teams in the Jamaica Premier League—Tivoli Gardens, Portmore United, and Dunbeholden Football Clubs—earning widespread respect for his tactical acumen, leadership, and ability to develop cohesive, disciplined squads. Williams led Portmore United to success in the 2023 Lynk Cup, a knockout tournament featuring teams from both the Jamaica Premier League and Tier II competition.

In addition to preparing the squad for the domestic season, Williams will lead Arnett Gardens Football Club into the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Club Shield tournament in Trinidad and Tobago, from July 26 to August 3, 2025, as they aim to defend their crown.

Arnett Gardens' General Manager Peter Thelwell explained the reason behind Williams selection.

"The coach of Arnett Gardens Senior Men’s Team must be one armed with the right combination of tactical acumen and a history of success in developing youth players as well as the ability to integrate with our community and its fans. Coach Williams checked all those boxes, so we are excited to welcome Philip Williams to the Arnett Gardens family," he said.

Williams will assume his role immediately as the team begins preparations for the CFU Club Shield and the upcoming Jamaica Premier League season.
